Fresco <\/strong>(uncredited)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Starring:\u00a0 <strong>Beverly Garland, Bruce Bennett <\/strong>and<strong> Lon Chaney Jr.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Tagline: <em>Her honeymoon turned into a nightmare of horror!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Overview:\u00a0 Beware of Spoilers\u2026<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Joyce Webster (Garland) is on her honeymoon with her new husband (Bennett) when he suddenly runs away.\u00a0 After years of searching the clues lead Joyce to her husband&#8217;s family estate on a secluded bayou. (Years of searching?\u00a0 Wouldn&#8217;t her husband&#8217;s family be the first place she looked?)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">There she meets the one-handed alcoholic Manon (Chaney) and her anti-social mother-in-law.\u00a0 Manon takes Joyce around the swampy estate which is full of gators.\u00a0 As Manon shoots gators, he explains years ago one took his hand and he&#8217;ll kill any alligator he can.\u00a0 Joyce also learns that secret experiments are being performed on alligators.\u00a0 As Joyce pries deeper she learns the horrific reason her husband ran away&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">If only <em>The Alligator People<\/em> was as good as its poster.\u00a0 As you can tell from the photo below, the special effects are lacking.\u00a0 Sadly, at this point in his career Lon Chaney, Jr. playing an alcoholic didn&#8217;t require much acting.\u00a0 If you like bad 1950s monster movies, you&#8217;ll like this.\u00a0 Despite the less-than-stellar alligator make-up there are some fun scenes of Garland in peril surrounded by alligators.\u00a0 There is also a fun fight between Manon with his hook hand and the alligator man.\u00a0 Unfortunately, the title of the film is misleading, but I guess <em>The Alligator Man<\/em> doesn&#8217;t sound as exciting as <em>The Alligator People<\/em>.\u00a0 With that said, <em>The Alligator People<\/em> earned 2 of 5 stars.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/zone\/logo\/zview_d.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"100\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/zone\/2022\/z042322zview_alligatorpeople2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"319\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Alligator People (1959) Director:\u00a0 Roy Del Ruth Writers:\u00a0 Orville H.
