Reprint edition (April 19, 2016)<\/p>\n<p>First sentence&#8230;<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Taking the local train from Philly to New York&#8217;s Penn Station may not be as smooth as the Acela&#8217;s ride but it gets the job done for a few dollars less and sometimes, like that Monday afternoon, the car is nearly empty and a man has time to think.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The Overview:\u00a0 Beware of Spoilers\u2026<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Leonid McGill is a legitimate tough guy.\u00a0 He&#8217;s a former boxer, a full time PI and sometime criminal.\u00a0 While riding the train from Philly, a beautiful woman, Marella Herzog asks McGill to get her safely to a cab.\u00a0 He says he will for a price: if he walks her to the cab and there is no incident, the price is a handshake and kiss on the cheek.\u00a0 If he has to play bodyguard, the price is $1,500.00.\u00a0 Marella asks, &#8220;Isn&#8217;t that price high?\u00a0 &#8220;I couldn&#8217;t be trusted for less&#8221; is McGill&#8217;s response.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">McGill has to take action when a man with a knife attacks Marella.\u00a0 McGill leaves the man unconscious with a broken arm and gets Marella to a cab.\u00a0 The attraction between Leonid and Marella is undeniable.\u00a0 She invites him up to her hotel for payment.\u00a0 He agrees to come by later.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">And<\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Sometimes<\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">I<\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Wonder<\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">About<\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">You<\/span> unfolds, McGill becomes more involved with Marella.\u00a0 She&#8217;s beautiful, smart, as lustful as McGill and cannot be trusted.\u00a0 Why are people after her?\u00a0 She has something they want, but what?\u00a0 McGill realizes that she&#8217;s everything he could want in a woman (if she doesn&#8217;t kill him), but McGill has so much going on&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>There&#8217;s his wife who is currently wasting away in a sanitorium.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Hiram Stent, who yesterday wanted to hire him to find his cousin, was found murdered.\u00a0 Mr. Stent said his cousin was set to inherit a million dollars.\u00a0 McGill felt the case was fishy and declined.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Then last night McGill&#8217;s office was broken into and one of the building&#8217;s security guards killed.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Plus, McGill&#8217;s adult son has gotten himself involved with a mysterious &#8220;underground&#8221; gang that the police have been trying to take down with the only result being more dead bodies.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Oh, and McGill&#8217;s estranged father is about to show up.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">If this sounds like too much going on, it is for Leonid McGill, but not the reader.\u00a0 Mosley keeps all plot threads going without any confusion.\u00a0 Don&#8217;t think that everything all ties together and is resolved with a bow.\u00a0 A couple of the plot threads are related, but others aren&#8217;t.\u00a0 This seems realistic.\u00a0 Too often in detective novels there is one case and nothing else comes up until it is resolved.\u00a0 (If only life would cooperate like that.)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">McGill is a tough guy, but he isn&#8217;t invincible.\u00a0 He doesn&#8217;t have a heart of gold and has done some pretty terrible things in the past.\u00a0 McGill is flawed, but has a (tarnished) code of honor.\u00a0 Walter Mosley has written so many excellent novels.\u00a0 <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">And<\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Sometimes<\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">I<\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Wonder<\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">About<\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">You<\/span> is one of them.\u00a0 It rates 5 of 5 stars.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rating:<br \/><\/strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/zone\/logo\/zview_a.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"100\" \/><\/p>\n\n\n<p><p><a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3NtDkoa\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3NtDkoa\">And Sometimes I Wonder About You<\/a> Trade Paperback<\/p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><p><a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3wtQ6Ny\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3wtQ6Ny\">And Sometimes I Wonder About You<\/a> Kindle\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>And Sometimes I Wonder About You by Walter Mosley Trade Paperback: 288 pagesPublisher: Vintage Crime\/Black Lizard;
