Crofts,<\/em> died yesterday at the age of 80.\u00a0 No cause of death was given.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Jim Seals met Dash Crofts when both were in a Texas band called <em>Dean Beard and the Crew Cats<\/em>.\u00a0 They later joined Glen Campbell in his band, <em>Glen Campbell and the GCs<\/em>.\u00a0 After a couple of years the band broke up and everyone went their separate ways.\u00a0 Seals and Crofts met up again when both joined a band called <em>The Dawn-Breakers<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In 1969, Seals and Crofts decided to become a duo.\u00a0 They had moderate success until their fourth album, which contained the single <em>Summer Breeze<\/em> (also the name of the album).\u00a0 The single shot up the charts selling over a million copies and earning <em>Seals &amp; Crofts<\/em> their first Gold Record. <em>Hummingbird<\/em> was another hit song from the album.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Diamond Girl<\/em> was <em>Seals &amp; Crofts<\/em> follow-up album and single proving lightning could strike twice.<em> Diamond Girl<\/em> became their second Gold record.\u00a0 <em>We May Never Pass This Way Again<\/em> was another chart topper from the <em>Diamond Girl<\/em> album.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Seals &amp; Crofts<\/em> had two more big hits, <em>I&#8217;ll Play for You<\/em> and <em>Get Closer.<\/em>\u00a0 In 1980, <em>Seals &amp; Crofts<\/em> decided to take a break.\u00a0 In 1991,<em> Seals &amp; Crofts<\/em> reunited for a one year tour.\u00a0 In 2004, <em>Seals &amp; Crofts<\/em> came together to create their last album, <em>Traces<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Jim Seals&#8217; brother, Dan was better known as England Dan of the singing duo, <em>England Dan &amp; John Ford Coley<\/em>!\u00a0 From 2000 &#8211; 2008, Jim and his brother Dan toured under the name <em>Seals &amp; Seals<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I am a huge fan of <em>Seals &amp; Crofts<\/em> (and <em>England Dan &amp; John Ford Coley<\/em> for that matter).\u00a0 I remember hearing <em>Diamond Girl<\/em> when I was a little kid out to eat with my grandparents and asking for juke box money to play the song again.\u00a0 <em>We May Never Pass This Way Again<\/em> was the theme for one of the graduating classes when I was in high school.\u00a0 Jim Seals&#8217; music had a positive impact on my life and the lives of millions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jim Seals family, friends and fans.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jim Seals, one half of the mega-selling recording duo, Seals &amp;
