Disturbing the Peace <\/strong><\/em>(2020)<\/p>\n Director: Chuck Hustmyre<\/strong><\/p>\n Screenplay by:\u00a0 Jay Simms Starring: Guy Pearce, Devon Sawa<\/strong> and Branscombe Richmond Tagline: What Would You Give Up to Save Everything?<\/em><\/p>\n The Overview:\u00a0 Beware of spoilers…<\/p>\n Jim Dillion (Pearce) was a Texas Ranger.\u00a0 He stopped carrying a gun after accidentally shooting and paralyzing his partner in a hostage situation.\u00a0 Now he’s Marshall Dillion. (I kid you not. If you’re old enough, you’ll recognize the name.) Like Andy Griffith, Dillion has one Deputy to assist him.\u00a0 They are the law in a little Texas town.<\/p>\n A small motorcycle gang, barely large enough to be called a crowd, plans to rob an armored truck carrying 15 million dollars to be deposited in the town’s bank.\u00a0 It will be up to Marshall Dillion and his deputy to stop them.<\/p>\n I wanted to like Disturbing the Peace<\/em>.\u00a0 Guy Pearce is a good actor.\u00a0 The plot was perfect for a low budget film.\u00a0 I was hoping for something along the lines of Tom Laughlin in The Born Losers<\/em>.\u00a0 What I got was a real mess.<\/p>\n The story goes off the rails.\u00a0 For a lot of the film, Marshall Dillion and his deputy are running from place to place watching the bad guys take hostages or worse.\u00a0 When Dillion finally decides to get a gun, he has to run home. He then stares at his pistol for an eternity before finally picking it up.
