her dancing and him with his orchestra, Duke reminds her that the doctor said she shouldn&#8217;t exert herself\u00a0 because of her heart condition.\u00a0 Despite the doctor&#8217;s warnings, Fredi is determined to perform since they need the money&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">For a short, the film employs creative camera work.\u00a0 We see many of the dances from the view of a mirrored floor.\u00a0 As Fredi waits to perform and is feeling ill, we see the performers from her perspective.\u00a0 <em>Black and Tan<\/em> was the film debut of both Duke Ellington and Fredi Washington.\u00a0 <em>Black and Tan<\/em> was inducted to the National Film Registry in 2015.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em style=\"color: var(--text-color);
