Marion, Gerald Schnitzer, Bert Lawrence<\/strong> (additional dialogue)<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Stars:\u00a0 <strong>Leo Gorcey, Huntz Hall, Gabriel Dell, Mickey Knox, Richard Benedict, William &#8216;Billy&#8217; Benedict, Joe Turkel, David Gorcey, Benny Bartlett, Bernard Gorcey,\u00a0 Ray Walker <\/strong>and<strong>Rory Mallinson<\/strong><strong>.<\/strong><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tagline:\u00a0 <em>It&#8217;s their Funniest Fightin-est Film!<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Plot&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">When Slip (Gorcey) and Satch (Huntz) learn that their buddy Gabe, a police officer, was shot, they head to the hospital.\u00a0 They learn that Gabe will survive, but his partner, who was also shot, has died.\u00a0 Gabe explains that members of the notorious Loop gang were the killers.\u00a0 Slip and Satch decide to pose as gangsters to infiltrate the Loop gang and bring them down.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Thoughts (beware of spoilers)&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Bowery Boys work best when the drama is kept to a minimum.\u00a0 Although there is a scene where Leo Gorcey lays it on thick and brings tears to his eyes, <em>Angels in Disguise<\/em> turns out to be one of the Bowery Boys&#8217; better outings.\u00a0 Gorcey provides a voice-over and the film has scenes shot like detective\/noir films of the era.\u00a0 The humor is still there and works well with this dynamic.\u00a0 The best scene is the introduction of Slip&#8217;s gang.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em style=\"color: var(--text-color); font-family: var(--text-font); font-size: inherit;\"><strong>Angels in Disguise <\/strong><\/em><span style=\"color: var(--text-color); font-family: var(--text-font); font-size: inherit;\">earns 3 of 5 stars.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/zone\/logo\/zview_c.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"100\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/zone\/2022\/z110722zview_angelsindisguise2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"227\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Angel&#8217;s in Disguise (1949) Director:\u00a0 Jean Yarbrough Screenplay:\u00a0 Charles R.
