{"id":3092,"date":"2009-05-02T08:33:31","date_gmt":"2009-05-02T12:33:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/craigzablo.com\/?p=3092"},"modified":"2009-05-02T08:33:31","modified_gmt":"2009-05-02T12:33:31","slug":"free-comic-book-day-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/craigzablo.com\/?p=3092","title":{"rendered":"Free Comic Book Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/zone\/2009\/z050209fcbd.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"475\" height=\"107\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Today is <strong>Free Comic Book Day<\/strong>.\u00a0 Comic shops all over the country will be giving away <strong>free comics<\/strong>, having <strong>store signings<\/strong> with <strong>comic book writers<\/strong> and <strong>artists<\/strong>, offering <strong>big discounts<\/strong> on comic related items, having <strong>drawings<\/strong>, <strong>costume contests<\/strong> and all sorts of fun.\u00a0 Although I love going to <strong>comic conventions<\/strong>, meeting <strong>artists<\/strong> and<strong> writers<\/strong>, and having all sorts of fun, I&#8217;ve never attended a <strong>FCBD<\/strong> event.\u00a0 Today that changes.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Queen<\/strong> and I have been up since <strong>4:30am<\/strong> [had to drop my son &amp; his girlfriend off at the <strong>Orlando<\/strong> airport] and have already driven well over <strong>100 miles<\/strong>.\u00a0 In an hour or so, we&#8217;re getting back on the road and heading down to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.myspace.com\/FamousFacesAndFunnies\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Famous Faces &amp; Funnies<\/strong><\/a> in <strong>West Melbourne, Florida<\/strong>.\u00a0 <strong>Derec Donovan<\/strong> and <strong>Karl Moline<\/strong> will be there sketching and signing autographs.\u00a0 We&#8217;re going to check out the festivities [and maybe see about a <strong>Stallone<\/strong> sketch or two].<\/p>\n<p>Then it&#8217;s back on the road and down to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.collectorscomics.net\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Collector&#8217;s Comics<\/strong><\/a> in <strong>Port St. Lucie<\/strong>, where my buddy, <strong>John Beatty<\/strong> will be sketching and defacing comics with his signature.\u00a0 His lovely wife, <strong>Bella<\/strong>, will also be there and it will be a chance for her and the <strong>Queen<\/strong> to get together and compare notes.\u00a0 Oh, and store owners <strong>Keith Mallow<\/strong> and <strong>Monica<\/strong> will be on hand to keep <strong>Beatty<\/strong> and I in line.\u00a0 A good time for all is guaranteed.<\/p>\n<p>Then the <strong>Queen<\/strong> and I will get back on the road to head for home.\u00a0 If we time it right a dinner a <strong>Dixie Crossroads<\/strong> is in the plans.\u00a0 Yeah, this looks to be a great day.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today is Free Comic Book Day.\u00a0 Comic shops all over the country will be giving away free comics, having store<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":912,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_jetpack_newsletter_access":"","_jetpack_dont_email_post_to_subs":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_tier_id":0,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":"","jetpack_post_was_ever_published":false},"categories":[58,56],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-3092","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-art","category-comics","comments-off"],"jetpack_featured_media_url":"","jetpack_sharing_enabled":true,"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/craigzablo.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/3092","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/craigzablo.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/craigzablo.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/craigzablo.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/912"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/craigzablo.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=3092"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/craigzablo.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/3092\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":3093,"href":"https:\/\/craigzablo.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/3092\/revisions\/3093"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/craigzablo.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=3092"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/craigzablo.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=3092"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/craigzablo.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=3092"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
