\n<\/strong><\/p>\nTagline: The end of the line is just the beginning.<\/em><\/p>\nThe Plot\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\nAn operative with the code name Ladybug (Pitt) boards a bullet train with a simple job: Retrieve a briefcase full of cash.\u00a0 Ladybug has had a string of bad luck. He hopes this easy assignment is just what he needs.\u00a0 Little does Ladybug know that several assassins are on the train.\u00a0 Each killer has his\/her own agenda, but when paths cross people die…<\/p>\n
Thoughts (beware of spoilers)\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\nWhen Bullet Train<\/em> was first announced, I was stoked.\u00a0 I loved the idea of several assassins on a bullet train fighting it out.\u00a0 David Leitch’s track record as a director: John Wick<\/em>, Atomic Blonde<\/em>, Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw<\/em> made him the perfect choice to helm the production.\u00a0 The novel by K\u014dtar\u014d Isaka was a best-seller.\u00a0 Everything was coming together to make a cool movie.<\/p>\nI bought Isaka’s book and could not get into it.\u00a0 The assassins were high school students.\u00a0 One of them droned on and on about Thomas the Train<\/em>.\u00a0 It’s rare that I don’t finish a book.\u00a0 I quit this one.\u00a0 Then the ads started to appear for the movie.\u00a0 They made it look like a COMEDY with a little action.\u00a0 Not what I was hoping for.\u00a0 Still, I was willing to give Bullet Train<\/em> a chance.<\/p>\nI’m glad I did.\u00a0 Yes, Bullet Train<\/em> is full of quirky characters.\u00a0 Yes, it has comedy.\u00a0 But there’s more than enough action to balance it out.\u00a0 I liked the story.\u00a0 Leitch keeps things moving.\u00a0 His background in stunts and previous directing gigs serves him well.\u00a0 The cast plays things straight so as an audience we buy in.\u00a0 Brad Pitt was the perfect choice to star and he’s got a great supporting cast.\u00a0 Channing Tatum and Ryan Reynolds have uncredited cameos that are the icing on the cake.<\/p>\nBullet Train<\/em> exists in it’s own universe.\u00a0 It’s crazy, quirky and I’m glad I made a visit.<\/p>\nBullet Train <\/strong><\/em>earns 4 of 5 stars.<\/span><\/p>\n![\"\"](\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/zone\/logo\/zview_b.png\")
