The Plot\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

Detectives Prudhomme (Lambert) and Hollinsworth (Orser) are assigned a murder case.\u00a0 The victim’s arm was sawed off and taken.\u00a0 At the crime scene, they find written in blood, “He is coming”<\/em>.\u00a0 Soon other victims are found. Each is missing a body part.\u00a0 The victims are all 33 years old and have biblical names (Matthew, Peter, etc.).\u00a0 They discover the madman is taking the parts in an effort to recreate Christ’s body.\u00a0 More people will die, if Prudomme and Hollinsworth don’t crack the case.\u00a0 But how do you catch a madman?<\/p>\n

Thoughts (beware of spoilers)\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

I watched Resurrection<\/em> hoping that director, Russell Mulcahy and star, Christopher Lambert would be able to catch lightning in a bottle.\u00a0 The pair meshed perfectly in Highlander<\/em>.\u00a0 Could they do it again?<\/p>\n

The short answer is, “No.”<\/p>\n

In Highlander,<\/em> Mulcahy’s direction provided amazing camera movements, inventive scene transitions and creative framing.\u00a0 In Resurrection<\/em> we don’t get that.\u00a0 Christopher Lambert was the exact right choice to play Connor MacLeod. Lambert’s character in Resurrection<\/em> is so generic that anyone could have played him as long as they could run and scream… a lot.<\/p>\n

The serial killer’s motive is insane.\u00a0 That should have been played up more.\u00a0 There was shock because of the brutality of the murders, but the movie, for the most part lacked tension.\u00a0 I had hoped for better, but it’s near impossible for lightning to strike in the same place twice.<\/p>\n

Resurrection <\/strong><\/em>earns 2 of 5 stars.<\/span><\/p>\n
