Glass Onion <\/strong><\/em>(2022)<\/p>\n Director:\u00a0 Rian Johnson<\/strong><\/p>\n Screenplay:\u00a0 Rian Johnson<\/strong><\/p>\n Stars: Daniel Craig, Edward Norton, Kate Hudson, Dave Bautista, Janelle Mon\u00e1e, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Dallas Roberts, Ethan Hawke, Hugh Grant, Stephen Sondheim, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar<\/strong>\u00a0and Serena Williams<\/strong> Tagline: A Rian Johnson Whodunit.<\/em><\/p>\n The Plot\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n Miles Bron (Norton), one of the world’s richest men, has invited five friends to his private island.\u00a0 They will play a murder mystery game while staying in his mansion, the Glass Onion.\u00a0 His five friends are Bron’s head scientist Lionel Toussaint (Odom), Connecticut governor Claire Debella (Hahn),\u00a0 fashion designer Birdie Jay (Hudson), social media influencer Duke Cody (Bautista), and ousted Alpha co-founder Cassandra “Andi” Brand (Mon\u00e1e).<\/p>\n Each guest received a special invitation that would be impossible to copy.\u00a0 Surprisingly, the world famous detective, Benoit Blanc (Craig) also received an invitation. He has arrived with the other guests.\u00a0 Bron has no idea how Blanc could have received an invite, but allows him to stay.<\/p>\n Before the weekend concludes there will be multiple murders and only a world class detective will be able to peel back the layers to solve them.\u00a0 Luckily, Benoit Blanc is there…<\/p>\n Thoughts (beware of spoilers)\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n Glass Onion<\/em> is the second film to feature Daniel Craig as Benoit Blanc.\u00a0 Rion Johnson, creator, writer and director of both films, was upset that Netflix required Glass Onion<\/em> to be titled Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery<\/em>.\u00a0 In each film, Benoit Blanc solves a complicated murder with multiple suspects.\u00a0 The set-up is time tested (Nero Wolfe, Charlie Chan, Columbo, etc.) and it is wonderful that Johnson continues the tradition.<\/p>\n Glass Onion<\/em> features quirky characters with each part well cast.
