Whitehead<\/strong>\u00a0 Tagline: “The Lion in Winter” is about love and hate between a man and a woman and their sons. It’s also about politics, vengeance, greed and ambition. It other words it’s about life.<\/em><\/p>\n The Plot\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n The year is 1183.\u00a0 King Henry II (O’Toole) has brought his family together as he prepares to name his successor.\u00a0 Henry has three sons.\u00a0 He is leaning towards his youngest son, John (Terry), getting the throne.\u00a0 King Henry’s estranged wife,\u00a0 Eleanor of Aquitaine (Hepburn) wants their son, Richard (Hopkins) to be the next king.\u00a0 Of course all three sons want to be King.\u00a0 To complicate matters, King Philip II of France (Dalton) arrives with demands of his own.<\/p>\n As King Henry contemplates who will be the next king, family members are plotting against him and each other.
