UFC 99<\/strong> is tonight.\u00a0 Although there are a couple of good fights on the card, there aren’t enough to tempt me to get the PPV.\u00a0 Let’s take a look at what they do offer…<\/p>\n

Marcus “The Irish Hand Grenade” Davis Vs. Dan “The Outlaw” Hardy<\/strong>: Both men come in with similar records [21-5 vs 21-6<\/strong>].\u00a0 What makes this fight interesting is that these guys seem to have a real dislike<\/strong> for each other stemming from Hardy<\/strong> calling Davis<\/strong> a “fake Irish man”.\u00a0 Whew!\u00a0 Talk about insults.\u00a0 I’m going with the fake Irish Man over the fake Outlaw.<\/p>\n

Spencer Fisher Vs. Caol Uno<\/strong>: Fisher<\/strong> has the much better record and I’ve seen him fight before.\u00a0 You guessed it, I’m taking Fisher<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Mike Swick Vs. Ben Saunders<\/strong>: This may be the fight of the night.\u00a0 Swick<\/strong> is 13-2 <\/strong>and Saunders<\/strong> is 7-0<\/strong>.\u00a0 Both men are strong, fast, and skilled.\u00a0 I’m going with Saunders<\/strong> in what I expect to be a fast paced and brutal fight.<\/p>\n

Mirko Cro Cop Vs. Mostapha Al Turk<\/strong>: Cro Cop<\/strong> is working his way, he hopes, back into contention.\u00a0 I predict he’ll win by knockout.<\/p>\n

Cheick Kongo Vs. Cain Velasquez<\/strong>:: Congo<\/strong> is 6-4<\/strong> and a solid 240 pounds<\/strong>.\u00a0 He has a record of 24-4<\/strong>.\u00a0 Cain<\/strong> is 6-1<\/strong>and 240<\/strong> with a 5-0<\/strong> record.\u00a0 On paper it should be a tough fight.\u00a0 I think that Cain<\/strong> will have his way with Congo<\/strong> and end it before the final bell.\u00a0 Cain<\/strong> appears to be the real deal<\/strong>.\u00a0 We shall see.<\/p>\n

Rich Franklin Vs. Wanderlei Silva<\/strong>: The main event<\/strong> pits two of the most popular<\/strong> former champions in the game against each other.\u00a0 Both men need a win to get back into the title hunt.\u00a0 Silva <\/strong>is going down in weight and Franklin<\/strong> up.\u00a0 They’re fighting at a catch weight of 195<\/strong>.\u00a0 I think that Franklin<\/strong> will win.\u00a0 It should be an entertaining fight.\u00a0 [As crazy as it sounds, I think we’ll soon see Wanderlei Silva<\/strong> fighting Anderson Silva<\/strong> even if Wanderlei <\/strong>looses to Franklin<\/strong> tonight.\u00a0 They don’t like each other and Anderson<\/strong> worked with Franklin<\/strong> for tonight’s fight.\u00a0 Of course if Wanderlei<\/strong> wins, there’s even more reason for them to fight… I just don’t see it happening.]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
