Based on a single chilling chapter from Bram Stoker\u2019s<\/strong> classic novel Dracula<\/strong><\/em>, The Last Voyage of the Demeter<\/em> tells the terrifying story of the merchant ship Demeter, which was chartered to carry private cargo\u2014fifty unmarked wooden crates\u2014from Carpathia to London.<\/p>\n

Strange events befall the doomed crew as they attempt to survive the ocean voyage, stalked each night by a merciless presence onboard the ship. When the Demeter finally arrives off the shores of England, it is a charred, derelict wreck. There is no trace of the crew.<\/p>\n

The film stars Corey Hawkins<\/strong> (In the Heights, Straight Outta Compton<\/em>) as Clemens, a doctor who joins the Demeter crew, Aisling Franciosi<\/strong> (Game of Thrones, The Nightingale<\/em>) as an unwitting stowaway, Liam Cunningham<\/strong> (Game of Thrones, Clash of the Titans<\/em>) as the ship\u2019s captain and David Dastmalchian<\/strong> (Dune<\/em>, the Ant-Man<\/em> franchise) as the Demeter\u2019s first mate.<\/p>\n

The film also features Jon Jon Briones<\/strong> (Ratched, American Horror Story<\/em>), Stefan Kapicic<\/strong> (Deadpool<\/em> films, Better Call Saul<\/em>), Nikolai Nikolaeff<\/strong> (Stranger Things, Bruised<\/em>) and Javier Botet<\/strong> (It<\/em> films, Mama<\/em>).<\/p>\n

From DreamWorks Pictures<\/strong> and the producers of Zodiac<\/em> and Black Swan, The Last Voyage of the Demeter<\/em> is directed by Norwegian horror virtuoso Andr\u00e9 \u00d8vredal<\/strong> (Scary Stories To Tell in the Dark, Trollhunter<\/em>), from a script by Bragi F. Schut<\/strong> (Escape Room<\/em>), Stefan Ruzowitzky<\/strong> (The Counterfeiters<\/em>) and Zak Olkewicz<\/strong> (the upcoming Bullet Train<\/em>), based on the chapter \u201cThe Captain\u2019s Log\u201d<\/em> of Bram Stoker\u2019s Dracula<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n
