CBR.com<\/strong> posted a larger version of the piece above along with a mini-interview<\/a><\/strong> with Troy Duffy<\/strong>, the man behind “The Boondock Saints.”<\/strong>\u00a0 You may remember<\/a><\/strong> that Duffy<\/strong> was a bartender in 1997<\/strong> who scored a million dollar deal<\/strong> with addtional benefits based on his “Boondock Saints”<\/strong> screenplay.\u00a0 Before the film was completed, Duffy’s<\/strong> rampaging ego alienated his family, friends, and the production company behind his big bucks deal.\u00a0 Ultimately “The Boondocks Saints”<\/strong> was never given a wide theatrical release, Duffy<\/strong> had burned his bridges and gone through the money.<\/p>\n

A funny thing happened when “The Boondock Saints”<\/strong> went to dvd and cable.\u00a0\u00a0It became a cult hit!\u00a0 Now, tweleve years later, and without any additional films in between, Duffy<\/strong> is coming back with “The Boondock Saints 2.”<\/strong>\u00a0 As a tie-in to the movie, Duffy <\/strong>has teamed with 12 Guage<\/strong> to create a comic that will expand “The Boondock Saints”<\/strong> story.\u00a0 Chris Brunner<\/strong> [an excellent artist] will provide covers to the series with an interior artist to be named later.<\/p>\n

The movie and comic are projects to keep an eye on.\u00a0 Let’s hope that Duffy<\/strong> has become a bit of a “Saint” too.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
