The Plot\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

Frank Bigelow (O’Brien) learns that he was poisoned with a a “luminous toxin” that will kill him in a few days.\u00a0 The toxin has no antidote.\u00a0 Bigelow is determined to discover who and why he was marked for death,\u00a0 The clock is ticking.<\/p>\n

What starts out as a fun weekend in San Francisco turns into one of the noirest noirs.<\/p>\n

Sadly the copyright on D.O.A.\u00a0<\/em>wasn’t renewed so there are many poor copies out there.\u00a0 Beware!<\/p>\n

This is Neville Brand’s first credited role.\u00a0 Look for future tv stars in small roles: Beverly (My Three Sons<\/em>) Garland, Frank (Petticoat Junction \/ Green Acres<\/em>) Grady and Jerry (Dick Van Dyke<\/em>) Paris.\u00a0 Hugh O’Brien, who would go on to star in feature films and more than one tv series, has an uncredited role.\u00a0 Bill Baldwin, perhaps best known for his role as a fight commentator in Rocky, Rocky II<\/em> and Rocky III<\/em>, also has an uncredited role!<\/p>\n

There’s a scene where Edmund O’Brien is running down a crowded city street.\u00a0 O’Brien bumps into pedestrians as others look around confused by the man running past them at full speed.\u00a0 That scene is an example of Gorilla Filming<\/em>.\u00a0 The filmmakers made the shot without any permits or permission.<\/p>\n

I’m a D.O.A.<\/em> fan and like to revisit it every so often.<\/p>\n
