No One Will Save You <\/em><\/strong>(2023)<\/span><\/p>\n Director: Brian Duffield<\/strong><\/p>\n Screenplay: Brian Duffield Stars: Kaitlyn Dever<\/strong>, Zack Duhame, Geraldine Singer, Dane Rhodes<\/strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n Tagline: None.<\/p>\n The Plot\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n Brynn (Dever) is a young woman living on the outskirts of a small town.\u00a0 A tragic event turned many of those in town against Brynn. Now she suffers from anxiety and is a bit of a recluse.\u00a0 When Brynn wakes one night to discover that aliens are invading, she realizes that to survive, she will have to save herself.<\/p>\n Thoughts (beware of spoilers)<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n Hats off to Brian Duffield who wrote and directed No One Will Save You<\/em>.\u00a0 The film is engaging from the start.\u00a0 Duffield knows how to tell a story.\u00a0 He chooses interesting camera angles and shots.\u00a0 Duffield’s scares don’t rely on jump takes and he knows how to create tension.<\/p>\n No One Will Save You<\/em> is basically a one woman show.\u00a0 Thankfully, Kaitlyn “Justified”<\/em> Dever is up to the task.\u00a0 She was excellent.\u00a0 Dever’s performance is even more impressive taking into account there are less than ten words spoken in the entire movie.<\/p>\n Stephen King said this about \u201cNO ONE WILL SAVE YOU<\/em>: Brilliant, daring, involving, scary. You have to go back over 60 years, to a TWILIGHT ZONE<\/em> episode called \u2018The Invaders\u2019<\/em> to find anything remotely like it. Truly unique.\u201d<\/p>\n I agree with everything Stephen King wrote.\u00a0 If you feel a “but” coming, you’re right.\u00a0 No One Will Save You<\/em> is all that Mr. King said…<\/p>\n …BUT, movies are sometimes like trips.\u00a0 It’s not about the destination, but the journey.\u00a0 Where No One Will Save You<\/em> fell short is the ending.
