MacDonald<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Cast: <strong>Gregory Peck, Robert Mitchum, Polly Bergen, Lori Martin, Martin Balsam, Jack Kruschen, Telly Savalas, Barrie Chase, Paul Comi, Edward Platt<\/strong>\u00a0and <strong>Will Wright<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tagline: <em>Now, he had only one weapon left &#8211; Murder!&#8230;To prevent an even more shocking crime!<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>The Plot\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Max Cady (Mitchum) was recently released from prison.\u00a0 Cady served eight years for a sadistic rape.\u00a0 Now Cady has one thing on his mind, to take revenge on Sam Bowden (Peck).\u00a0 It was Sam Bowden who stopped Cady&#8217;s assault.\u00a0 It was also Bowden&#8217;s testimony that got Cady convicted.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sam Bowden is a well respected small town lawyer.\u00a0 But the law is going to be of no help.\u00a0 \u00a0Cady is smart and as devious as he is cruel.\u00a0 Cady stops Bowden on the street.\u00a0 From all appearances the meeting is cordial.\u00a0 But Cady lets Bowden know he&#8217;s out of prison.\u00a0 He subtly threatens Bowden, his wife and their young daughter.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Cady increases the threats and intimidation. Bowden realizes that Cady won&#8217;t stop until he&#8217;s done the sick things he&#8217;s threatened.\u00a0 There may be only one way to stop Max Cady&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-size: inherit; color: var(--text-color); font-family: var(--text-font);\"><strong style=\"font-size: inherit; color: var(--text-color); font-family: var(--text-font);\">Thoughts (beware of spoilers)<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The film covers some very dark topics for 1962.\u00a0 Despite censors, the movie makes it very clear what Max Cady has done and plans to do.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I like to describe <em>Cape Fear<\/em> as the best Hitchcock movie not made by Hitchcock.\u00a0 The score by Bernard Herrmann helps.\u00a0 J. Lee Thompson was an Alfred Hitchcock fan and it was his intent to film scenes like the master.\u00a0 <em>Cape Fear<\/em> is my favorite film directed by J. Lee Thompson.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I&#8217;m a Robert Mitchum fan.\u00a0 Mitchum always adds to a film&#8217;s enjoyment factor.\u00a0 His portrayal of Max Cady is my favorite Robert Mitchum performance.\u00a0 That&#8217;s saying a lot because he&#8217;s always good.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Gregory Peck was an excellent choice to play the good man who discovers that the law isn&#8217;t going to save him or his family.\u00a0 \u00a0Peck and Mitchum are supported by an outstanding cast. Polly Bergen, Lori Martin, Martin Balsam, Jack Kruschen, Telly Savalas and Barrie Chase all get opportunities to shine.\u00a0 Look for Edward Platt in a cameo.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: var(--text-color); font-family: var(--text-font); font-size: inherit;\"><strong><em style=\"font-size: inherit; color: var(--text-color); font-family: var(--text-font);\">Cape Fear <\/em><\/strong>(1962) <\/span><span style=\"color: var(--text-color); font-family: var(--text-font); font-size: inherit;\">rates 5 of 5 stars.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/zone\/logo\/zview_a.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"100\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/zone\/2023\/z101523zview_capefear62a.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"280\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cape Fear (1962) Director: J.
