{"id":34749,"date":"2023-12-09T08:21:36","date_gmt":"2023-12-09T13:21:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/craigzablo.com\/?p=34749"},"modified":"2023-12-09T08:21:36","modified_gmt":"2023-12-09T13:21:36","slug":"rip-ryan-oneal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/craigzablo.com\/?p=34749","title":{"rendered":"RIP: Ryan O&#8217;Neal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/zone\/2023\/z120923rip_ryan_oneal.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"394\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Ryan O&#8217;Neal died on December 8, 2023.\u00a0 Mr. O&#8217;Neal was 82.\u00a0 No cause of death was given.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ryan O&#8217;Neal&#8217;s mother, Patricia Ruth O&#8217;Callaghan, was an actress,\u00a0 His father, Charles O&#8217;Neal, a\u00a0 novelist and screenwriter.\u00a0 While in high school Ryan O&#8217;Neal was a Golden Gloves boxer.\u00a0 Later, while still in high school, Ryan O&#8217;Neal&#8217;s family moved to Munich, Germany when his father got a job writing for a television series.\u00a0 His mother got Ryan a job as a stand-in.\u00a0 Soon he was working as a stand-in and stuntman.\u00a0 This led to Ryan O&#8217;Neal&#8217;s career in acting.\u00a0 He would continue to act on television and feature films for the rest of his career.<\/p>\n<p>Ryan O&#8217;Neal&#8217;s Awards include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1971 <em>Academy Award<\/em> Nomination for <em>Best Actor <\/em>for <em>Love Story<\/em><\/li>\n<li>1971 <em>Golden Globe<\/em> Nomination for <em>Best Actor in a Motion Picture (Drama)<\/em> for <em>Love Story<\/em><\/li>\n<li>1974<em> Golden Globe<\/em> Nomination for <em>Best Actor in a Motion Picture<\/em> <i>(Musical or Comedy)<\/i> for<i> Paper Moon<\/i><\/li>\n<li>2021: <em>Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame<\/em> (Motion Pictures)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Some of Ryan O&#8217;Neal&#8217;s television projects include: <em>The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis; The Untouchables; Laramie;<\/em> <em>Westinghouse Playhouse<\/em> (3 episodes); <em>Leave It To Beaver; My Three Sons; Empire<\/em> (31 episodes); <em>The Virginian; Perry Mason; Wagon Train; Peyton Place<\/em> (501 episodes); <em>Small Sacrifices; Good Sports<\/em> (15 episodes); <em>1775; The Larry Sanders Show<\/em> (2 episodes);<em> Bull<\/em> (6 episodes); <em>Miss Match<\/em> (18 episodes); <em>Desperate Housewives; 90210<\/em> (3 episodes) and <em>Bones<\/em> (24 episodes).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Some of Ryan O&#8217;Neal&#8217;s feature film projects include: <em>The Big Bounce; Love Story; Wild Rovers; What&#8217;s Up, Doc?; Paper Moon; Barry Lyndon; Nickelodeon; A Bridge Too Far; The Driver; Oliver&#8217;s Story; The Main Event; Tough Guys Don&#8217;t Dance; An Alan Smithee Film: Burn Hollywood Burn<\/em> and <em>Zero Effect.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I have fond memories of going to <em>The Wild Rovers<\/em> starring William Holden, Ryan O&#8217;Neal and Karl Malden.\u00a0 I was 12 and went by myself to the theater.\u00a0 My favorite Ryan O&#8217;Neal performance is in <em>Paper Moon<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Our thoughts and prayers go out to Ryan O&#8217;Neal&#8217;s family, friends and fans.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ryan O&#8217;Neal died on December 8, 2023.\u00a0 Mr. O&#8217;Neal was 82.\u00a0 No cause of death was given.
