The Beatles<\/strong> have been all over the news lately. Pretty impressive considering that the band formed nearly 50 years ago<\/strong>, broke up\u00a0almost 40 years ago<\/strong>, and two<\/strong> of their members have passed on.\u00a0 Still, no one can argue the impact that Paul McCartney. John Lennon, George Harrison<\/strong> and Ringo Starr<\/strong> had on the world. I was a Beatles<\/strong> fan, still am. Not a fanatic, mind you, but a fan.<\/p>\n

Entertainment Weekly<\/strong> in their September 11, 2009<\/strong>, issue featured The Beatles<\/strong> on the cover and several articles.\u00a0 One of the articles picked the Top 50 Best Beatles Songs<\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0 You know me and lists, so using just songs from Entertainment Weekly’s<\/strong> 50<\/strong>, here are\u00a0My Top Ten\u00a0Beatles Songs<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

10. Yesterday<\/strong> [1965]: Who hasn’t covered this song?\u00a0 It seems to get more\u00a0melabcholy the older I get.<\/p>\n

09. A Hard Day\u2019s Night<\/strong> [1964]\u00a0 One of their first, and 45 years later, it’s still hard not to sing along when it starts playing.<\/p>\n

08. Revolution<\/strong> [1968]\u00a0 “You say you want a revolution?\u00a0 Well, you know, we\u00a0all want to change the world.”\u00a0 Still do.\u00a0<\/p>\n

07. She Loves You<\/strong> [1963] Yeah, yeah, yeah.\u00a0 Nuff said.<\/p>\n

06. Hey Jude<\/strong> [1968]\u00a0 This song has grown on me over the years [after learning that Paul wrote it to help John Lennon’s son after John broke up with his\u00a0first wife].<\/p>\n

05.<\/strong> You\u2019ve Got to Hide Your Love Away<\/strong> [1965]\u00a0From the album and movie Help!<\/strong><\/p>\n

04.<\/strong> I Want to Hold Your Hand [1963]\u00a0 My first intro to The Beatles<\/strong>… getting to\u00a0stay up late to watch Ed Sullivan<\/strong>.\u00a0 Thanks mom!<\/p>\n

03. Help!<\/strong> [1965]\u00a0My uncle took me to see the movie and let me play his Beatles<\/strong> albums.\u00a0 Thanks Jim!<\/p>\n

02.<\/strong> Something<\/strong> [1969]\u00a0 Frank Sinatra<\/strong> called it “the greatest love song of the last 50 years” – who can argue with old blue eyes?<\/p>\n
