Unleashed.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Plot\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Shot down in Afghanistan, Royal Air Force pilot Captain Kate Sinclair (Kirk) is attacked by enemy forces.\u00a0 Gunfire forces Sinclair to break into an abandoned underground bunker.\u00a0 Sinclair&#8217;s battle with the enemy awakens deadly creatures that begin attacking.\u00a0 She survives and is picked up by a unit stationed near the bunker.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sinclair is unable to convince the soldiers that the monsters exist.\u00a0 That&#8217;s about to change since the creatures have tracked her to the camp.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong style=\"font-size: inherit; color: var(--text-color); font-family: var(--text-font);\">Thoughts (beware of spoilers)\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Director Neil Marshall is hit or miss for me.\u00a0 Hits include <em>Dog Soldiers<\/em> and<em> The Descent.\u00a0 Doomsday<\/em> and <em>Hellboy<\/em> fall into the latter category.\u00a0 Unfortunately so does <em>The Lair.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>The Lair<\/em> starts off well enough.\u00a0 It has an interesting plot.\u00a0 There&#8217;s action galore.\u00a0 The acting is okay.\u00a0 It goes off the rails when the creatures begin shooting tentacles out of their eyes and mouths.\u00a0 If you&#8217;re looking for a way to spend a mindless hour and 37 minutes, then <em>The Lair<\/em> may fit the bill.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: var(--text-color); font-family: var(--text-font); font-size: inherit;\"><em><strong>The Lair <\/strong><\/em>(2022) earns 2 of 5 stars.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/zone\/logo\/zview_d.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"100\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/zone\/2024\/z010324zview_thelair2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"220\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Lair (2022) Director:\u00a0 Neil Marshall Screenplay: Neil Marshall, Charlotte Kirk Stars: Charlotte Kirk, Jonathan Howard and Neil Marshall.
