color: initial;\">Tagline: <\/span><em style=\"font-size: inherit; color: initial;\">The confession was just the beginning.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Plot&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Andrew Jarecki directed <em>All Good Things<\/em>, a film inspired by Robert Durst&#8217;s life.\u00a0 <em>All Good Things<\/em> is the fictional tale of David Marks, a real estate tycoon suspected of killing his wife Katie, who disappeared in 1982.\u00a0 Robert Durst is an heir to the Durst family fortune made in real estate.\u00a0 Robert Durst&#8217;s wife, Kathie disappeared in 1982.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">After seeing <em>All Good Things<\/em>, Robert Durst reached out to Andrew Jarecki and proposed a series of interviews so that Durst could tell his side of the story.\u00a0 In addition to being suspected of killing his wife Kathie, Durst had also admitted to killing and dismembering Morris Black and was also suspected of killing his friend Susan Berman.\u00a0 Robert Durst gave Jarecki almost unlimited access to personal family photos\/videos, court transcripts and depositions.\u00a0 Jarecki performed extensive research prior to the interviews and uncovered previously unseen evidence.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Durst did the interviews to give his side of the story and to clear his name.\u00a0 Little did Durst know that decision would lead to his arrest for murder.\u00a0 Admitting his guilt on a hot mic didn&#8217;t help his side of the story.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong style=\"font-size: inherit; color: var(--text-color); font-family: var(--text-font);\">Thoughts (beware of spoilers)\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>The Jinx<\/em> was nominated for six 2015 <em>Primetime Emmys<\/em> and won two: <em>Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Series<\/em> and <em>Outstanding Picture Editing for Nonfiction Programming.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Robert Durst&#8217;s story is stranger than fiction.\u00a0 A multi-millionaire who many think got away with killing his first wife goes on the run because he thinks the police are going to arrest him.\u00a0 He leaves New York and travels to Galveston, Texas.\u00a0 He disguises himself as a mute woman.\u00a0 While in Galveston he kills and dismembers a man.\u00a0 The body parts are found floating in plastic bags.\u00a0 They have Durst&#8217;s fingerprints, a receipt where he paid for the bags and saws.\u00a0 He is caught with the saw used to dismember the man.\u00a0 Durst admits to the killing.<\/p>\n<p>And his defense attorney gets him off!\u00a0 I won&#8217;t spoil the way it is done.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Now Durst has gotten away with murder (potentially murders).\u00a0 You&#8217;d think he&#8217;d take his multi-millions and lay low for the rest of his life.\u00a0 Nope.\u00a0 He becomes the main suspect in the killing of Susan Berman.\u00a0 Durst&#8217;s brother hires bodyguards and takes out a restraining order &#8212; he fears he could be next.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">What does Durst do?\u00a0 He agrees to a series of interviews in which he <span style=\"color: initial;\">inadvertently admits his guilt.\u00a0 This leads to his arrest for murder.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Kudos to Andrew Jarecki, Marc Smerling and Zac Stuart-Pontier.\u00a0 Their research a dedication to finding the truth made for compelling television.\u00a0 <em>The Jinx<\/em> deserves every accolade it has received.\u00a0 I look forward to season two.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: inherit;
