From zero to minus.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Plot&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">1945.\u00a0 World War II is nearing the end.\u00a0 K\u014dichi Shikishima, a Japanese kamikazi pilot lands his plane on Odo island for repairs.\u00a0 There is nothing wrong with his plane.\u00a0 The truth is that K\u014dichi was afraid to finish his mission.\u00a0 That night a giant prehistoric-looking creature comes ashore.\u00a0 It attacks the Japanese stronghold.\u00a0 Try as they might, the creature is impervious to anything the soldiers can do.\u00a0 K\u014dichi is too afraid to help.\u00a0 The next morning he is one of the only two to survive Godzilla&#8217;s attack.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The war ends.\u00a0 K\u014dichi returns home to Tokyo.\u00a0 He discovers his parents were both killed in a bombing. K\u014dichi meets a homeless woman with an orphaned child. He brings them to his home. As time goes by they become more of a family, but K\u014dichi still feels like a coward.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Reports of Godzilla attacking ships becomes more frequent.\u00a0 The government fears Godzilla will come on land and wipeout entire cities.\u00a0 Nothing has been able to stop the giant creature.\u00a0 Then the worst is reported, Godzilla is heading inland.<\/p>\n<p>Will K\u014dichi get a chance to redeem himself and save his country?\u00a0 What do you think?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Thoughts (beware of spoilers)\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The title, <em>Godzilla Minus One,<\/em> refers to Japan being taken &#8220;down to zero&#8221; after World War II.\u00a0 Godzilla&#8217;s attacks on the country take it even lower.\u00a0 This <em>minus one<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">After seeing the trailer and the great reviews for <em>Godzilla Minus One\u00a0<\/em>I was excited to see the film.\u00a0 The scenes of Godzilla&#8217;s attacks and the destruction caused by the monster are the best in any Godzilla film ever.\u00a0 This is where <em>Godzilla Minus One\u00a0<\/em>shines.\u00a0 I wanted more of that.\u00a0 It almost felt like I was watching a more adult film during Godzilla&#8217;s attacks and a movie aimed at kids with the K\u014dichi subplot.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Godzilla Minus One <\/strong><\/em>(2023) rates 3 of 5 stars.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/zone\/logo\/zview_c.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"100\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/zone\/2024\/z061124zview_godzillaminus1b.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"214\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Godzilla Minus One (2023) Director: Takashi Yamazaki Screenplay: Takashi Yamazaki Stars: Ryunosuke Kamiki, Minami Hamabe.
