Billy Rosewood (Reinhold), Foley learns that his grown estranged daughter&#8217;s life is in danger.\u00a0 Foley arrives in Beverly Hills. He discovers that an attempt on his daughter&#8217;s life was made and Billy is missing.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As Axel digs into the case, he uncovers a conspiracy going to the highest levels.\u00a0 Now both Axel and his daughter are targets.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Thoughts (beware of spoilers)\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Will Beal, who came up with the story and co-wrote the screenplay, is a former L.A. cop turned writer.\u00a0 Beal&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/4bx6KNB\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">L.A. REX<\/a> is excellent.<\/p>\n<p>Steven Berkoff, who played the villain in the original film, has a brief uncredited cameo as a motorist.<\/p>\n<p>This is director Mark Molloy&#8217;s first feature film.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F\u00a0<\/em>hits all the right beats for fans of the series.\u00a0 It has a plausible reason for Foley to return to Beverly Hills.\u00a0 It brings back characters in a way that works.\u00a0 It gives Foley a daughter (that wasn&#8217;t mentioned in <em>Beverly Hills Cop III<\/em>, although she would have been born).\u00a0 It references the past films, even going so far as to say that Foley&#8217;s third case in Beverly Hills wasn&#8217;t his &#8220;finest hour&#8221;.\u00a0 <em>Beverly Hills III<\/em> was easily the least favorite of the series.\u00a0 It uses the famous<em> Axel F<\/em> theme from the original <em>Beverly Hills Cop<\/em> by composer Harold Faltermeyer.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">For some reason <em>Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F<\/em> works when it shouldn&#8217;t.\u00a0 When we see Axel driving a snow plow through the city, destroying dozens of vehicles, we ignore the fact that this would probably injure or kill pedestrians as well.\u00a0 We accept the fact that he is able to keep his job.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">When he gets his &#8220;partner&#8221; to steal a helicopter and fly down Beverly Hills Streets the only damage is to vehicles.\u00a0 People are never hurt.
