{"id":36203,"date":"2024-07-11T14:18:49","date_gmt":"2024-07-11T18:18:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/craigzablo.com\/?p=36203"},"modified":"2024-07-11T14:18:49","modified_gmt":"2024-07-11T18:18:49","slug":"rip-shelley-duvall","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/craigzablo.com\/?p=36203","title":{"rendered":"RIP: Shelley Duvall"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/zone\/2024\/z071124rip_sheeley_duvall.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"497\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Shelley Duvall died peacefully at her home today.\u00a0 Ms. Duvall&#8217;s cause of death was complications from diabetes.\u00a0 Shelley Duvall was 75.<\/p>\n<p>Ms. Duvall was a writer, actress and producer.\u00a0 She was nominated for two <em>Primetime Emmy<\/em> Awards:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">1988 <em>Outstanding Children&#8217;s Program <\/em>for <em>Tall Tales &amp; Legends<\/em> (shared with Bridget Terry, Fred Fuchs)<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">1992 <em>Outstanding Animated Program (Programming One Hour or Less)<\/em> for <em>Shelley Duvall&#8217;s Bedtime Stories (<\/em>shared with: Art Leonardi, Carol Davies)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">After graduating high school in 1967, Shelley Duvall attended South Texas Junior College. Her major was\u00a0 nutrition and diet therapy.\u00a0 A chance meeting with Robert Altman at a party led to him casting her in <em>Brewster McCloud<\/em>, a film he was shooting on location in Texas.\u00a0 Altman was so awed by Shelley Duvall&#8217;s acting that he cast her in his next three films.\u00a0 Robert Altman wasn&#8217;t the only one impressed.\u00a0 Ms. Duvall continued to act in feature films and television until she retired in 2002.\u00a0 Then last year she was coaxed out retirement to appear in <em>The Forest Hills<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Television projects that feature Shelley Duvall include: <em>Cannon; Love American Style; Baretta; Saturday Night Live; The Paul Simon Special; Twilight Theater; Faerie Tale Theater<\/em> (3 episodes);<em> The Twilight Zone; Tall Tales &amp; Legends; Mother Goose Rock &#8216;n&#8217; Rhyme; The Ray Bradbury Theater; L.A.
