I looked down from the third-floor office window onto the hastily built greenhouse in our back-fence neighbor’s yard.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The Overview:\u00a0 Beware of Spoilers\u2026<\/p>\n

Easy Rawlins is at his desk when a man enters the small office.\u00a0 Easy has seen the look of a shell-shocked soldier before.\u00a0 He’s seeing it again.\u00a0 The man’s name is Craig Kilian.\u00a0 Kilian’s a white man who wants to hire Easy.\u00a0 Even in 1969, that’s not an everyday occurrence.<\/p>\n

Kilian wants Easy to find out if Kilian murdered a man.\u00a0 He thinks he did.\u00a0 Kilian and a beautiful woman were alone in a citrus grove when a stranger attacked.\u00a0 Kilian thinks in the struggle he stabbed the man.\u00a0 Killed him dead.\u00a0 Yet when Kilian came to the woman was gone.\u00a0 So was the man he stabbed.<\/p>\n

Easy feels sorry for the battle fatigued vet so he takes the case.<\/p>\n

As Easy follows the clues, it becomes a tangled mess involving missing money, a sociopathic killer, cops and grifters.<\/p>\n

I’m a Walter Mosley fan.\u00a0 His Easy Rawlins tales are the best.\u00a0 BLOOD GROVE is no exception.\u00a0 If you’ve followed Mr. Mosley’s career, you’ll enjoy appearances in this one by Mouse Alexander, Fearless Jones, Jackson Blue and Christmas Black.<\/p>\n
