A man named Palinov (Macready) who fronts as a cafe owner runs the illegal racket.\u00a0 Pete Karczag (Hodiak) is an American agent sent undercover to Cuba to get the goods on Karczag.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Once there Pete meets Marianne Lorress (Lamarr).\u00a0 Marianne is a refugee from a Nazi concentration camp.\u00a0 She wants to go to the United States to start a new life, but lacks the money to make it happen.\u00a0 Karczag has other ways she can pay.\u00a0 Initially Pete plans to use Marianne to get to Palinov.
