The Plot…<\/strong><\/p>\n

R.T. Straker (Asb\u00e6k), a mysterious foreign man, recently moved to Jerusalem’s Lot.\u00a0 Straker bought the infamous, old Marston house. No one lived there for years because of the murders. Since Straker arrived strange things have been set in motion.<\/p>\n

On the way home from school Ralphie Glick (Woodward) disappears.\u00a0 Search parties find no clues.\u00a0 Soon others will disappear or die with no logical explanation.\u00a0 But how could one logically explain a vampire is preying on those in ‘Salem’s Lot?<\/p>\n

A writer named Ben (Pullman), his girlfriend Susan (Leigh), Dr. Cody (Woodward) and eleven year old Mark Petrie (Carter) come to realize they are facing a vampire.\u00a0 The infestation is spreading.\u00a0 What chance do they have?<\/p>\n

Thoughts (beware of spoilers)\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is the fourth adaptation of Stephen King’s novel.\u00a0 Tobe Hooper directed the 1979 Salem’s Lot<\/em> mini-series.\u00a0 Larry Cohen helmed the 1987 theatrical release A Return to Salem’s Lot<\/em>.\u00a0 A new Salem’s Lot<\/em> mini-series aired in 2004 and starred Rob Lowe.<\/p>\n

I liked this version, but feel that it might have been better served as a mini-series.\u00a0 Writer\/director Gary Dauberman has a great feel for the material.\u00a0 There were several interesting\/iconic scenes and shots but overall the story felt rushed.\u00a0 We needed a slow burn\/discovery of exactly what was going on in ‘Salem’s Lot.\u00a0 I wanted to see more.<\/p>\n

Kudos for coming up with the tree house scene.<\/p>\n

If there is ever an extended cut for ‘Salem’s Lot<\/em>, I’m there.<\/p>\n
