Recently About.com<\/strong> posted a piece<\/a><\/strong> about the TOP 50 Cartoon Characters<\/strong>.\u00a0 Like all lists, this one is sure to create some controversy.\u00a0\u00a0 I definitely think that several characters that somehow didn\u2019t make the cut, should have been on it.<\/p>\n

Still, I enjoy playing around with lists, so, using just the characters on their TOP 50<\/strong>, here is my TOP 10<\/strong> [in alphabetical order] with comments:<\/p>\n

Batman:<\/strong> has always been a favorite comic character and I\u2019ve enjoyed all of the different cartoon versions as well.<\/p>\n

Bugs Bunny<\/strong>: was always best in small doses. I also enjoyed the supporting cast [Daffy Duck, Elmer Fudd<\/strong>, etc.]

\nCharlie Brown<\/strong>: If you were a kid growing up in the 60’s<\/strong>, you have to be a fan of Charlie Brown, Snoopy<\/strong>, and the rest of the gang. \u00a0Holidays still aren\u2019t complete without at least knowing that Charlie Brown<\/strong> is playing somewhere.

\nFred Flintstone<\/strong>: is a simple concept – transport \u201cThe Honeymooners\u201d<\/strong> to the stone age!<\/p>\n

Mighty Mouse<\/strong>: I\u2019ll admit it.\u00a0 I used to put on a cape and play Mighty Mouse<\/strong>.\u00a0 Yeah, laugh now, but if you needed me to save the day, you\u2019d be singing a different tune.<\/p>\n

Pink Panther<\/strong>: A great theme song and a fun cartoon.<\/p>\n

\u00a0Popeye<\/strong>: I probably watched more hours of Popeye<\/strong> than any other cartoon. I especially loved the oldest version with Bluto, Wimpy<\/strong>, the Sea Witch<\/strong>\u2026<\/p>\n

Space Ghost<\/strong>: When it first ran, I thought Space Ghost<\/strong> was pretty cool. I watched some episodes years later and thought \u201cnot so much\u201d.<\/p>\n

Tom and Jerry<\/strong>: Who doesn\u2019t love the old Tom and Jerry<\/strong> cartoons. They were so much fun.<\/p>\n

Wile E. Coyote<\/strong>: I was a huge fan of The Road Runner<\/strong> cartoons.\u00a0 My wife doesn\u2019t like \u2018em since they\u2019re all the same.\u00a0 But that\u2019s the beauty of it.\u00a0 How many different ways can ole Wile E.<\/strong> screw up?<\/p>\n
