Horror Movies of All-Time!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/zone\/2024\/z102024variety_100horror.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"647\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Variety came up with their list of <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/lists\/best-horror-movies-of-all-time\/repulsion-1965-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The 100 Best Horror Movies of All Time<\/a>.\u00a0 Before we get into that, how about the sweet cover by Franco Francavilla?\u00a0 You know he loved that assignment.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve seen 69 of the 100 films that they chose.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The cover says Variety chose the <em>100 Greatest<\/em>, while the article says the <em>100 Best<\/em>.\u00a0 To me there&#8217;s a difference.\u00a0 The <em>greatest<\/em>, in my mind, refers to the film&#8217;s quality <strong>and<\/strong> the impact it had on the genre.\u00a0 The <em>best\u00a0<\/em>would take into account, just the film&#8217;s quality.\u00a0 With that said, here in alphabetical order are my top ten choices for the greatest horror movies of all time.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>28 Days Later<\/em> (2002) &#8211; reinvigorated zombie films (although many argue the monsters aren&#8217;t zombies) and let them run fast.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Alien<\/em> (1979) &#8211; a haunted house movie in space, but instead of a ghost we got a new kind of alien.\u00a0 Spawned a franchise.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Dracula<\/em> (1931) &#8211; one of Universal&#8217;s classic horror monsters.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Exorcist<\/em> (1973) &#8211; based on the best selling novel of the same name.\u00a0 <em>The Exorcist<\/em> is a film that will stay with you and provide scares even when the film is over.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Frankenstein<\/em> (1931) &#8211; another of Universal&#8217;s classic horror monsters.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Halloween<\/em> (1978) &#8211; John Carpenter&#8217;s low budget film spawned a new type of horror film.\u00a0 Most focused not on the suspense but on the big, brainless killer that cannot be stopped.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Invasion of the Body Snatchers<\/em> (1956) &#8211; One of the best horror films from the 1950s and an all-time great.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Night of the Living Dead<\/em> (1968) &#8211; If George Romero made a dime from every zombie movie, tv, comic book, or novel his film influenced, he&#8217;d have been a multi-millionaire.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Psycho<\/em> (1960) &#8211;
