It’s no secret that I’m a fan of movies and books\u00a0which focus on\u00a0a small band of people who find themselves up against incredible odds<\/strong> in a life or death struggle<\/strong>. That’s one of the reasons that zombie stories<\/a><\/strong> appeal to me. Not because of the gore, but how much more outnumbered and against it can you be then when you’re fighting a world of dead beings?\u00a0 That’s why I\u00a0love really good zombie<\/strong>\u00a0stories like the original “Night\u00a0of the Living Dead”<\/strong>, the remake of “Dawn of the Dead”<\/strong> and the comic series “The Walking Dead”<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Of course the\u00a0“bad guys”\u00a0don’t have to be zombies<\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0The could be aliens<\/strong> [“Aliens”<\/strong>], nazis<\/strong> [“The Dirty Dozen”<\/strong>],\u00a0 Mayans<\/strong> [“Apocalypto”<\/strong>], but there’s just something about zombies<\/strong> that kick things up a notch.\u00a0 Maybe\u00a0because they want to eat you and maybe because anyone in the group could become one.\u00a0 At any rate…<\/p>\n

Earlier this year Miguel Insignares<\/a><\/strong> told me about a project that he’s putting together called\u00a0“The Rufnex: Isle of the Dead”<\/strong>.\u00a0 It was such a cool concept that I wanted to start talking it up right away,\u00a0especially after seeing some of the prelimiary art and names attached to the project.\u00a0 Yesterday Miguel’s Isle of the Dead site went live<\/a><\/strong>.\u00a0 If you go there, you’ll learn more about the project as well as see the names already attached.\u00a0 You’ll even learn how you could become a zombie<\/strong> in the comic.\u00a0 What could be better than that?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
