Jackson, Dorothy Peterson, Arthur Loft, Iris Adrian, George &#8220;Spanky&#8221; McFarland <\/strong>and <strong>Robert Blake<\/strong><strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tagline: <em>It was the look in her eyes that made him think of murder.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>The Plot&#8230;<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Richard Wanley is a mild-mannered, middle-aged college professor.\u00a0 While his wife and kids are away, Wanley decides to meet some friends at a club.\u00a0 In the store window next to the club is a large painting of a beautiful woman.\u00a0 Wanley stops to admire it before heading into the club.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">During a conversation with his friends, the painting is brought up.\u00a0 All of the men agree that the woman is beautiful.\u00a0 At the end of the evening as Wanley leaves the club, he decides to look at the painting one more time.\u00a0 The woman IS beautiful.\u00a0 Wanley is surprised to see a woman watching him stare at the portrait.\u00a0 He is even more surprised to see it is the woman from the painting.\u00a0 Her name is Alice Reed (Bennett).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Wanley and Alice engage in small talk.\u00a0 She invites Wanley to her place for a nightcap.\u00a0 Wanley agrees.\u00a0 As they are talking, a man bursts into the room.\u00a0 The intruder is Alice&#8217;s lover who believes Alice is cheating.\u00a0 The man attacks Wanley.\u00a0 In the struggle Wanley kills the man in self-defense.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Wanley and Alice decide the best thing is to dispose of the body and act like nothing ever happened.\u00a0 Of course neither Wanley nor Alice are professional criminals.\u00a0 They make mistakes and leave behind clues.\u00a0 As the police begin to close in, a crooked ex-cop sees an opportunity for blackmail.<\/p>\n<p>Wanley has no idea how to escape this nightmare.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Thoughts (beware of spoilers)\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>The Woman in the<\/em> Window was nominated for one <em>Academy Award: Best Music, Scoring of a Dramatic or Comedy Picture<\/em> &#8211; <strong>Hugo Friedhofer, Arthur Lange<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Director Fritz Lang and three of his stars (Edward G.
