McGinley, Alan Cumming, Gretchen Mol, Tom Sizemore, John Cassini, Mickey Rourke, Mark Boone Junior, Darryl Scheelar, Yan-Kay Crystal Lowe, Tyler Labine, Stephen Kay, Frank Stallone <\/strong>and <strong>Michael Caine<\/strong><strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tagline:\u00a0 <em>The Truth Hurts<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>The Plot&#8230;<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Jack Carter, a Vegas mob enforcer, returns to Seattle for his estranged brother, Ritchie&#8217;s funeral.\u00a0 Ritchie was killed in a car crash after drinking.\u00a0 Problem is Ritchie never drank.\u00a0 As Jack digs deeper, he starts to believe Ritchie was murdered.<\/p>\n<p>But why?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Clues point in several directions.\u00a0 Ritchie&#8217;s death could have something to do with the club he managed.\u00a0 Cliff Bumbry, the owner of the club has his fingers in other pies.\u00a0 Did Ritchie have dirt on Cliff?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Rumor is Ritchie was having an affair.\u00a0 Could that have led to Ritchie&#8217;s murder?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Some leads point to tech millionaire Jeremy Kinnear.\u00a0 How were he and Ritchie linked?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Worse still, Cyrus Paice may be involved.\u00a0 Paice was a rival of Jack&#8217;s when Jack was coming up.\u00a0 There&#8217;s still bad blood.<\/p>\n<p>As Jack digs deeper he will discover the truth.<\/p>\n<p><em>The truth hurts.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Thoughts (beware of spoilers)\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Get Carter<\/em> (2000) is a remake of <em>Get Carter<\/em> (1971) which starred Michael Caine. Caine co-stars in the remake.\u00a0 Stallone and Caine also appeared together in <em>Victory<\/em> (1981).\u00a0 Caine was originally only supposed to appear in a one scene cameo.\u00a0 The scene scored so high with test audiences, the film was adjusted to give Caine a bigger role.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">When producers were hesitant to hire Mickey Rourke (because of his past behaviors), Stallone guaranteed a portion of his salary, to cover any delays caused by Rourke.\u00a0 Rourke was on-time and ready every day.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Gretchen Mol plays an important role but is not listed in the film&#8217;s credits.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tom Sizemore&#8217;s voice (also uncredited) is heard when Carter talks to his Vegas boss.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Director Stephen Kay appears uncredited as a party guest.\u00a0 <em>Get Carter<\/em> features Stephen Kay&#8217;s second outing as a feature film director.\u00a0 Kay would go on to direct multiple highly rated episodes of <em>The Shield; Sons of Anarchy; Yellowstone; Mayor of Kingstown; Lioness<\/em> and <em>Landman<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Frank Stallone appears uncredited in the funeral scene.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Get Carter<\/em> (2000) is one of my all-time favorite films.\u00a0 The movie and especially Stallone&#8217;s character resonates with me.\u00a0 In it you&#8217;ll see some of Stallone&#8217;s best acting (especially the roof top scene with Rachael Leigh Cook).\u00a0 The film isn&#8217;t perfect or a classic, but it remains one of my go-to movies.\u00a0 Your mileage may vary (a lot on this one).<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: inherit; color: initial;\"><b><i>Get Carter (2000) <\/i><\/b>rates 5 of 5 stars<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/zone\/logo\/zview_a.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"100\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/zone\/2025\/z070125zview_getcarter2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"334\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Get Carter (2000) Director:\u00a0 Stephen Kay Screenplay: David McKenna;\u00a0based on JACK&#8217;S RETURN HOME by Ted Lewis.
