Scarpelli, Luciano Vincenzoni, Sergio Leone; <\/strong>story by <strong>Luciano Vincenzoni, Sergio Leone.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Stars: <strong>Clint Eastwood, Eli Wallach<\/strong><strong>, Lee Van Cleef<\/strong><strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tagline:\u00a0 <em>The Man with No Name Returns!<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>The Plot&#8230;<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">1862.\u00a0 The Civil War continues to tear the country apart.\u00a0 $200,000 in gold is buried in a secret grave in an unknown cemetery by a Confederate soldier named Bill Carson.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>&#8220;Angel Eyes&#8221;<\/em>, a sadistic mercenary has heard the rumor of buried gold.\u00a0 He knows the name of the soldier who buried the loot, but not gold&#8217;s hiding place.<\/p>\n<p>Tuco, a Mexican bandit, knows the name of the cemetery, but not the grave.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;Blondie&#8221;<\/em>, a bounty hunter, knows the name on the grave, but not the name of the cemetery.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Blondie<\/em> and Tuco form an uneasy alliance to get the buried gold.\u00a0 They believe their biggest problem is neither trusts the other.\u00a0 They will come to realize their gravest threat is <em>Angel Eyes<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Thoughts (beware of spoilers)\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Most think that <em>The Good, the Bad and the Ugly<\/em> was made as part of <em>The Man with No Name Trilogy<\/em>.\u00a0 The truth is that Eastwood originally played different characters in each film.\u00a0 It was Clint Eastwood&#8217;s idea to release the three films (<em>A Fistful of Dollars; For A Few Dollars More<\/em> and <em>The Good, the Bad and the Ugly<\/em>) in the US during the same year as a trilogy.\u00a0 Changes to dialogue were made to never tell Eastwood&#8217;s character&#8217;s real name.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sergio Leone originally wanted Charles Bronson to play <em>Angel Eyes<\/em>.\u00a0 Bronson was committed to The Dirty Dozen, so Lee Van Cleef got the role.<\/p>\n<p>Clint Eastwood came up with the name <em>Angel Eyes<\/em> for Van Cleef&#8217;s character.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Due to a miscommunication, the big scene where the bridge is blown up first happened when no cameras were rolling.\u00a0 The bridge had to be rebuilt so it could be blown up on camera.<\/p>\n<p>Eli Wallach improvised the line,\u00a0&#8220;When you have to shoot, shoot, don&#8217;t talk!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ennio Morricone&#8217;s soundtrack album peaked at #4, but stayed on Billboards Album chart for over a year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Although <em>The Good, the Bad and the Ugly<\/em> was released after <em>A Fistful of Dollars<\/em> and<em> For A Few Dollars More<\/em>, it is actually a prequel to the two films.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Eastwood&#8217;s character, labeled<em> the Good<\/em> actually kills more people than<em> the Bad<\/em> and <em>the Ugly<\/em> combined.\u00a0 <em>Angel Eyes, the bad,<\/em> kills the fewest people in the film.<\/p>\n<p><em>Angel Eyes<\/em> is shown to be missing the tip of one of his fingers.\u00a0 This is not a special effect.\u00a0 Lee Van Cleef lost the tip of a finger in a carpentry accident.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Good, the Bad and the Ugly<\/em> made Clint Eastwood a movie star.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: inherit;
