Director:\u00a0 Stephen Saint Leger, James Mather<\/strong><\/p>\n Screenplay: Stephen Saint Leger, James Mather, Luc Besson; <\/strong>story by Luc Besson; <\/strong>based on Escape from New York<\/em> by John Carpenter, Nick Castle<\/strong> and Escape from L.A.<\/em> by John Carpenter, Debra Hill, Kurt Russell<\/strong><\/p>\n Stars: Guy Pearce, Maggie Grace<\/strong>, Peter Stormare, Vincent Regan, Joe Gilgun, Tim Plester, Peter Hudson, Nick Hardin <\/strong>and Lennie James<\/strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n Tagline:\u00a0 Take no prisoners.<\/em><\/p>\n The Plot…<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n 2079.\u00a0 When Agent Snow discovers an unknown operative within the CIA is selling government secrets, he is framed for murder.\u00a0 Sentenced to 30 years, Snow will be sent to the United States first space prison.\u00a0 The worst killers, deviants and psychos are sent to MS One, where they spend their sentences in suspended animation.<\/p>\n Critics of this form of punishment claim the prolonged periods of stasis leads to mental psychosis and derangement.\u00a0 The President’s daughter Emilie has come to MS One to check out conditions at the prison.<\/p>\n As Snow is prepped for transport to MS One, word comes that a riot at the penitentiary has left the convicts in charge.\u00a0 The leader of the prisoners has warned that if an armed response is mounted, all the hostages will be killed.\u00a0 The inmates don’t yet know that the President’s daughter is one of their captives.<\/p>\n Soon they will.<\/p>\n It is determined that the best chance to rescue Emilie is to sneak in one well-trained soldier. Chance fits the bill.\u00a0 If Snow is successful in getting Emilie safely out, he’ll receive a full pardon.<\/p>\n What chance does one man have against a prison full of the worst of the worst?<\/p>\n Thoughts (beware of spoilers)\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n If you think the plot of Lockout<\/em> sounds like John Carpenter’s Escape from New York<\/em> and Escape from LA<\/em>, you’re not alone.\u00a0 John Carpenter thought so as well.\u00a0 He sued for \u00a0plagiarism\u00a0 and won.<\/p>\n The prisoners who lead the takeover are brothers named Alex and Hydell.\u00a0 Lee Harvey Oswald,\u00a0 the assassin who killed John F.
