The Plot…<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Jim awakens after being in a coma for 28 days.\u00a0 He’s in a hospital bed, but the hospital is deserted.\u00a0 Jim throws on some clothes and heads out into the street.\u00a0 Broad daylight and no one is seen.<\/p>\n

Jim goes into a church.\u00a0 In the sanctuary are dozens of people.\u00a0 Most show signs of major physical trauma.\u00a0 They appear to be sleeping.\u00a0 When a priest sees Jim and begins to attack, the infected come out of their slumber and attack as well.<\/p>\n

Jim barely escapes.\u00a0 Jim comes to realize that while he was in a coma, a fast-acting virus turned normal people into mindless, frenzied, killing machines.\u00a0 There are few survivors in a city that once held over 7 million souls.\u00a0 Jim meets and befriends three who have endured: Selena, a young woman about his age, Frank, a middle-aged man and his teenage daughter Hannah.<\/p>\n

A radio broadcast repeats the message that protection can be found at a location outside of Manchester.\u00a0 The four debate if there is truly salvation there.\u00a0 The broadcast could be outdated.\u00a0 Everyone there could be dead.\u00a0 The people there could be as dangerous as the infected.\u00a0 The journey will require them to pass through multiple congested areas.<\/p>\n

Ultimately the group decides to go.\u00a0 Unexpected dangers await. Not all will survive.<\/p>\n

Thoughts (beware of spoilers)\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

Megan Burns, who plays Frank’s teenage daughter Hannah, had appeared in only one other film prior to 28 Days Later<\/em>.\u00a0 Megan retired from acting after 28 Days Later<\/em> to pursue a career as a musician.\u00a0 Her stage name is Betty Curse.<\/p>\n

28 Days Later<\/em> re-invigorated the zombie genre.\u00a0 Although some argue that the infected aren’t zombies, since they have lost control of their bodies and reasoning, I think they fit the definition.<\/p>\n

28 Days Later<\/strong> is a classic.\u00a0 Well written, well directed and well acted.\u00a0 <Chef’s kiss><\/p>\n
