People are being murdered&#8230; or are they?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em><strong>&#8220;Through the Lens of Time&#8221;\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0<\/em>On a distant planet Spock, Nurse Chapel, Dr. Korby, Junior Medical Officer Gamble, and Beto (who is documenting the expedition) discover an ancient structure.\u00a0 When Gamble picks up a glowing object it explodes in his face.\u00a0 Gamble is transported back to the Enterprise.\u00a0 Meanwhile Spock and his team become trapped in the ancient building.\u00a0 There they learn that the structure was a prison &#8212; one with no escape.\u00a0 Back on the Enterprise, Dr. M&#8217;Benga&#8217;s efforts to save Gamble have failed.\u00a0 All scans show no brain activity&#8230; yet he appears awake.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em><strong>&#8220;The Sehlat Who Ate Its Tail&#8221;<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>When the USS Farragut is attacked by a huge ship of unknown orgin, the ship&#8217;s Captain is one of the injured.\u00a0 James T. Kirk becomes acting Captain for the first time.\u00a0 The Enterprise arrives to assist. Spock, Nurse Chapel, Lieutenant junior grade Scott, and communications officer Nyota Uhura join to assist Kirk on the Farragut. When the attack ship returns it attacks the Enterprise by draining its power and cutting off all communications.\u00a0 The Enterprise is doomed unless Kirk can lead his new crew and with a damaged ship figure a way to take out the assault warship.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em><strong>&#8220;What Is Starfleet?&#8221;<\/strong>\u00a0 A<\/em>\u00a0documentary filmmaker has been allowed to travel with the Enterprise.\u00a0 When Captain Pike is ordered to provide assistance to a non-Federation planet at war with a neighboring planet, the filmmaker begins to aggressively show all of Pike&#8217;s decisions\/actions in a negative light.\u00a0 The mission is further complicated when a creature of war being transported on the Enterprise escapes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em><strong>&#8220;Four-and-a-Half Vulcans&#8221;<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>In order to save a planet that prohibits humans from landing, Pike, Chapel, Uhura, and La&#8217;An undergo changes to their DNA to allow them to pass as Vulcans.\u00a0 Once the mission is completed, their DNA will be changed back.\u00a0 During the change they will for all purposes think, act and feel as a Vulcan.\u00a0 The mission is a success.\u00a0 When the four return to the Enterprise, they announce that they don&#8217;t want to change back to humans.\u00a0 That would be illogical.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em><strong> &#8220;Terrarium&#8221;\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0<\/em>While flying a solo shuttle mission, Ortegas&#8217; craft is pulled through a wormhole. The shuttle crashlands.\u00a0 Shaken, but alive Ortegas discovers herself on a barren, hostile planet.\u00a0 But she&#8217;s not alone.\u00a0 A Gorn pilot who suffered the same fate is also there.\u00a0 Gorn and humans are natural enemies, but in order for both to survive, they will need to trust each other.\u00a0 Meanwhile the crew attempts to locate the planet where Ortegas crashed.\u00a0 The Enterprise is on a mission to deliever needed vacines soon or colonists will die.\u00a0 The clock is ticking.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em><strong>&#8220;New Life and New Civilizations&#8221;\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0<\/em>It is revealed that Junior Medical Officer Gamble is dead and an alien is using his body.\u00a0 The creature has a plan to free others like it from the structure discovered by Dr. Korby, Spock and the landing party some time back.\u00a0 It will take the power of two star ships and absolutely perfect timing to stop the creature.\u00a0 But Spock with the help of James T. Kirk has a plan.\u00a0 At the same time Captain Pike&#8217;s love, Marie Bartel makes a decision that will affect both of them for the rest of their lives.\u00a0 Oh, what could have been.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Thoughts (beware of spoilers)\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ethan Peck, who plays Mr. Spock, is the grandson of actor Gregory Peck.\u00a0 Ethan Peck is excellent as Spock.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I was a fan of the original\u00a0<em>Star Trek\u00a0<\/em>series, cartoon and movies with the original cast.\u00a0 I never watched any other\u00a0<em>Star Trek<\/em>\u00a0productions.\u00a0 So I\u2019m not a die hard fan of everything\u00a0<em>Star Trek.\u00a0<\/em>\u00a0Believe me,\u00a0<em>Star Trek: Strange New Worlds<\/em>\u00a0is exceptional.\u00a0 Everything from the production values, the cast, the direction and the music is spot on.\u00a0\u00a0<em>Star Trek: Strange New Worlds<\/em>\u00a0is a love letter to everything the original series strived to be.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Star Trek: Strange New Worlds<\/em> is perfectly cast.\u00a0 Anson Mount is perfect in his role, but so are Ethan Peck, Jess Bush, Celia Rose Gooding and Melissa Navia.\u00a0 The series is well written with each major cast member displaying personality and getting a showcase.\u00a0 If you\u2019re a fan of the original series there are things that begin in <em>Strange New Worlds<\/em> that will reverberate in the original series.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In\u00a0<em>Star Trek: Strange New Worlds<\/em>: Season 3 different characters continue to get the spotlight.
