The Overview:\u00a0 Beware of Spoilers\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

The zombie apocalypse came.\u00a0 It was as bad as anyone could imagine.\u00a0 In no time at all the zombies outnumber the living.\u00a0 The humans who survive huddle in small groups in whatever safe haven they can find.\u00a0 But without adequate food, water, electricity, lights, air conditioning or heat, survival is barely a step above existing.<\/p>\n

The cities are the worst.\u00a0 The bigger the city, the worse the situation.\u00a0 In New York City most of the millions of people who used to live and work there are now members of the walking dead.\u00a0 You’d have to be crazy or have a daughter who will die if you don’t.<\/p>\n

Dekalb isn’t crazy.\u00a0 But he’s been separated from his daughter.\u00a0 Dekalb was captured by a squad of warrior women.\u00a0 Their leader will die without the right medicine.\u00a0 Dekalb knows where a supply can be found.\u00a0 The meds are at the U.N. Building in midtown Manhattan.\u00a0 Dekalb offers to retrieve the medicine if he can be reunited with his daughter.\u00a0 Although a small squad of the warriors will travel with Dekalb, they’ll be outnumbered millions to one.\u00a0 The only saving grace is Dekalb can think.\u00a0 Zombies are just mindless eating machines.<\/p>\n

All of them… except one.<\/p>\n

A medical student named Gary had a plan to survive the zombie apocalypse.\u00a0 And he did.<\/p>\n

Sort of.<\/p>\n

Now Gary is one of the walking dead, but he still has the ability to think.\u00a0 Sure, like all of the other walkers, Gary has a never-ending hunger for human flesh.\u00a0 But in addition to his ability to think, Gary can mentally control the other zombies.\u00a0 Gary’s developed a plan that will make him king of the world.\u00a0 Humans will be contained, corralled and allowed to live…\u00a0 as a food source for Gary and his walking dead army.<\/p>\n

Dekalb and Gary are on a collision course.<\/p>\n

David Wellington takes the traditional zombie troupes and puts a spin on them.\u00a0 I enjoyed the ride and look forward to the others in the trilogy.<\/p>\n
