The Plot…<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n1945.\u00a0 World War II is over.\u00a0 For the first time in history an international trial will be held to determine if crimes against humanity were committed.\u00a0 The defendants are leaders of the Nazi party including Reichsmarshall Hermann G\u00f6ring, Hitler’s former second-in-command.\u00a0 G\u00f6ring welcomes the opportunity to present his case to the world.<\/p>\n
Douglas Kelley, a Lt. Colonel and U.S. Army psychiatrist, is brought in to evaluate the Nazis competency to stand trial.\u00a0 Kelley determines that they are competent, but cautions the prosecutors. Hermann G\u00f6ring has a genius level IQ.\u00a0 He’s a sly, charismatic, confident narcissistic who believes that he will be able to prove he is not guilty of the crimes charged.<\/p>\n
As the prosecutors prepare for trial it becomes clear that G\u00f6ring is going to be a problem.\u00a0 Even Lt. Colonel Kelley begins to fall under his spell.<\/p>\n

Thoughts (beware of spoilers)\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\nMuch of the dialogue in the trial cross-examination exchanges of G\u00f6ring came from transcripts from the trial.<\/p>\n
G\u00f6ring was found guilty and sentenced to death.\u00a0 He committed suicide using cyanide before the sentence could be carried out.\u00a0 It’s ironic\/creepy that Lt. Colonel Kelley committed suicide twelve years later by cyanide in 1958.<\/p>\n
Russell Crowe, Rami Malek and Michael Shannon are excellent.<\/p>\n
