Xavier Samuel, Chris Pang, <\/strong>and Dennis Haysbert<\/strong><\/p>\n Tagline: She’s the boss now.<\/em><\/p>\n The Plot…<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n Linda Liddle is socially awkward and more than a bit nerdy.\u00a0 Oh, and she’s a fanatic for the tv show “Survivor<\/em>“.\u00a0 Linda is also smart, insightful and dedicated.\u00a0 In the seven years Linda has worked for Mr. Preston she’s brought in business and saved the company money.\u00a0 Mr. Preston promised Linda a Vice President position the next time one opens.<\/p>\n When Mr. Preston unexpectedly dies, his son Bradley, takes over the company.\u00a0 Bradley is cockey and spoiled.\u00a0 He doesn’t know the business, but thinks that being the boss is enough.\u00a0 Bradley is more interested in the perks being in charge brings than taking care of the business.\u00a0 He’s brought in a college buddy as the new VP.<\/p>\n When Linda confronts Bradley about his father’s promise, he blows her off.<\/p>\n Then Bradley learns that Linda is knowledgeable and needed for the upcoming Bankok merger.\u00a0 Bradley decides to bring her on the trip to Bankok and use her expertise.\u00a0 Then fire her after the merger is complete.<\/p>\n Bradley tells Linda, he’s sorry for the way their first meeting went.\u00a0 He is going to reconsider her for a VP spot, depending on how the Bankok merger goes.\u00a0 Linda is beyond happy.<\/p>\n On the flight to Bankok, Bradley’s private jet experiences engine trouble and crashes into the ocean.\u00a0 \u00a0The only survivors are Bradley and Linda.\u00a0 They barely make it to a deserted island.<\/p>\n Now the tables are turned.\u00a0 Bradley with his pampered upbringing has no idea how to survive in the wild.\u00a0 Linda, with her love of (and hopes of being a competitor on) Survivor<\/em>, and her book smarts, knows exactly what she needs to do to survive.\u00a0 Linda is now the boss!<\/p>\n As the days pass, Linda and Bradley’s relationship ebbs and flows.\u00a0 They see each other in a different light.\u00a0 Perhaps they’ll be rescued.\u00a0 Perhaps not.\u00a0 For now, they have only each other.<\/p>\n Bet you can’t guess how this ends.<\/p>\n Thoughts (beware of spoilers)\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n I went into this thinking it would be a typical romcom.\u00a0 Nerdy, but smart girl at odds with handsome hipster.\u00a0 Something would happen for them to fight at first and then realize they were meant for each other.<\/p>\n BOY WAS I WRONG.<\/p>\n Send Help<\/em> has a huge twist and change in tone.\u00a0 So much so, that for a bit I thought we had entered a dream sequence.<\/p>\n Rachel McAdams is perfectly cast.\u00a0 She pulls off the nerdy, socially awkward young lady and is believable as the confident survivor expert.<\/p>\n Kudos to screenwriters Damian Shannon and Mark Swift.\u00a0 It’s been a while that I’ve seen a movie that lured me in and then surprised me as much.<\/p>\n Director Sam Raimi was the perfect choice to direct.<\/p>\n My
