Burns<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Strs: <strong>Marion Cotillard, Matt Damon, Laurence Fishburne, Jude Law, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Winslet, Bryan Cranston, Jennifer Ehle, Sanaa Lathan, John Hawkes<\/strong> and<strong> Elliott Gould<\/strong><strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tagline: <em>Nothing Spreads Like Fear<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>The Plot&#8230;<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Beth Emhoff returns home from a Hong Kong business trip feeling a bit under the weather.\u00a0 Two days later, Beth is dead.\u00a0 Her young son who became ill shortly after her return soon dies as well.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">When others around the country show the same symptoms as Beth and quickly die, the Center for Disease Control and Homeland Security go on high alert.\u00a0 The CDC has never seen a virus like this.\u00a0 Scientists must develop a plan to minimize deaths caused by the virus as they search for a cure.\u00a0 Masks, distancing and other steps are accepted by some but not others.\u00a0 Meanwhile Homeland Security works to discover if this outbreak was a planned attack.\u00a0 If so, they must work out the appropriate response.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As the virus rapidly spreads, and the deaths mount, conspiracy theories abound.\u00a0 They only create more confusion, doubt and distrust.<\/p>\n<p>If a cure isn&#8217;t found, millions more will die.\u00a0 The clock is ticking.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Thoughts (beware of spoilers)\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I saw <em>Contagion<\/em> when it was first released.\u00a0 I thought it was a good film. I recently watched it again and thought it was even better.\u00a0 Although made nearly a decade before COVID, so much of the events covered in the film actually took place during the COVID pandemic.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In December 2019, <em>Contagion<\/em> was listed in 270th place in Warner Bros.&#8217; catalogue.\u00a0 Since the COVID pandemic the film has become much more popular rising as high as #2.\u00a0 After COVID <em>Contagion<\/em> also reappeared at the top of ITunes rentals.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The head used in Gwyneth Paltrow&#8217;s autopsy was actually created for the movie <em>Se7en<\/em> and reused here.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: inherit; color: initial;\"><strong><i>Contagion <\/i>(2011)<\/strong> rates 4 of 5 stars.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/zone\/logo\/zview_b.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"100\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/zone\/2026\/z080426zview_contagion2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"275\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Contagion (2011) Director: Steven Soderbergh Screenplay: \u00a0Scott Z.
