The Plot…<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Harry Fabian is a hustler and con man.\u00a0 Fabian believes he is one big idea away from riches. Only his ideas never pan out.\u00a0 Fabian’s a hustler. His enthusiasm has brought others along only to see him fail.\u00a0 Fabian has worn out his chances with the few folks with money to invest.<\/p>\n

Then Fabian gets THE idea that will TRULY make him wealthy.<\/p>\n

Through a chance encounter Fabian befriended, Gregorius the famous Grecko-Roman wrestler.\u00a0 Although older now, Gregorius is still a tough man.\u00a0 Gregorius’ son, Kristo is a professional wrestling promoter.\u00a0 Kristo’s star attraction makes him a lot of money.\u00a0 Gregorius cannot stand fake professional wrestling.<\/p>\n

Fabian’s plan is to promote a professional wrestling match.\u00a0 It will put him at odds with Kirsto; which is a dangerous place to be.\u00a0 But Fabian will maneuver Gregorius to take his side.\u00a0 A match between Kristo’s star and Gregorius will be a huge money-maker.<\/p>\n

Fabian borrows money from a few dangerous people.\u00a0 Then puts his plan in motion.\u00a0 If it doesn’t work perfectly… if Kristos doesn’t kill him, the loansharks will.<\/p>\n

Thoughts (beware of spoilers)\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mike Mazurki is one of my old-time chacter actors.\u00a0 Here he plays a professional wrestler called the Strangler.\u00a0 <\/em>Mazurki was once a professional wrestler in real life.<\/p>\n

Stanislaus Zbyszko, who plays Gregorius, the Greco-Roman wrestler was a Greco-Roman wrestler in real life … and this was his only film role.<\/p>\n

Richard Widmark is perfect as Harry Fabian.\u00a0 This is my favorite Widmark film.<\/p>\n

Night and the City<\/em> is one of the classic noirs.<\/p>\n
