{"id":4275,"date":"2010-04-02T10:56:42","date_gmt":"2010-04-02T14:56:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/craigzablo.com\/?p=4275"},"modified":"2010-04-02T10:58:55","modified_gmt":"2010-04-02T14:58:55","slug":"american-vampire-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/craigzablo.com\/?p=4275","title":{"rendered":"American Vampire #1"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong><\/strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/zone\/2010\/z040210lamerican_vampire.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"475\" height=\"550\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Pitch:<\/strong> <strong>Cowboys<\/strong> and <strong>Vampires<\/strong>, oh and did I mention <strong>Stephen King<\/strong> wrote one of the stories?<strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Overview:<\/strong> Two stories [one written by <strong>Scott Snyder<\/strong> and the other by <strong>Stephen King<\/strong>, both with amazingly good art by<strong> Rafael Albuqerque<\/strong>] combine to tell the tale of <strong>Skinner Sweet<\/strong>.\u00a0 In <strong>1880<\/strong>, <strong>Sweet<\/strong> was an <strong>outlaw <\/strong>in the <strong>wild west<\/strong>.\u00a0 That was also the year that he became a <strong>vampire<\/strong>.\u00a0 Jump forward <strong>45 years<\/strong>.\u00a0 A young woman named <strong>Pearl<\/strong> comes to <strong>Hollywood<\/strong> to make her fortune in the movies.\u00a0 Things are rough, but she has no idea how bad things can get until <strong>vampires<\/strong> are thrown in the mix, and I&#8217;m not <em><strong>just<\/strong><\/em> talking about <strong>Summer Sweet<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Good: <\/strong>Both stories are <strong>excellent<\/strong>.\u00a0 The <strong>concept<\/strong> works.\u00a0 <strong>Rafael Albuquerque&#8217;s art <\/strong>is a joy.\u00a0 Love the characters, especially <strong>Pearl<\/strong>.\u00a0 <strong>Summer Sweet&#8217;s<\/strong> appearances in<strong> Pearl&#8217;s story<\/strong> is well done.\u00a0 I am looking forward to more about the <strong>vampires<\/strong> in <strong>Hollywood<\/strong>.\u00a0 <strong>Alburquerque <\/strong>draws a great <strong>western<\/strong>!\u00a0 Love the foreshadowing with the big, bald guy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Bad: <\/strong>Going to a <strong>Hollywood<\/strong> party hosted by <strong>vampires<\/strong>.\u00a0 Shooting a <strong>vampire<\/strong> and it only ticks him off.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Ugly:<\/strong> What happens to guests at parties hosted by<strong> vampires<\/strong>.\u00a0 What happens when you tick off a <strong>vampire<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Summary:<\/strong> I <strong>loved <\/strong>the first issue<strong>. <\/strong>Everyone involved did a bang-up job and I look forward to the second issue.<strong> American Vampire #1<\/strong> is available now.<strong><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Pitch: Cowboys and Vampires, oh and did I mention Stephen King wrote one of the stories?
