{"id":4300,"date":"2010-04-10T07:21:28","date_gmt":"2010-04-10T11:21:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/craigzablo.com\/?p=4300"},"modified":"2010-04-10T07:21:28","modified_gmt":"2010-04-10T11:21:28","slug":"ufc-112-predictions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/craigzablo.com\/?p=4300","title":{"rendered":"UFC 112 Predictions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong><\/strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/zone\/2010\/z041010ufc112.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"475\" height=\"605\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>UFC 112<\/strong> takes place later this afternoon live from the <strong>Concert Arena<\/strong> in <strong>Ferrari World<\/strong> on <strong>Yas Island<\/strong>, <strong>Abu Dhabi<\/strong>.\u00a0 There are <strong>four fights<\/strong> that interest me and here are <strong>my predictions<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Mark <\/strong>&#8220;The Philippine Wrecking Machine&#8221;<strong> Munoz (7-1) vs. <\/strong><strong>Kendall <\/strong>&#8220;Da Spyder&#8221; <strong>Grove (11-6). <\/strong><strong>Munoz <\/strong>is coming in to this fight with a<strong> 3 win streak<\/strong>.\u00a0 <strong>Munoz<\/strong> has the <strong>better stand-up<\/strong> and <strong>wrestling<\/strong> skills.\u00a0 <strong>Grove<\/strong>, a former <strong>Ultimate Fighter<\/strong> winner, has a <strong>six inch height advantage<\/strong> and <strong>better bjj skills<\/strong>.\u00a0 The question becomes will <strong>Grove<\/strong> be able to use his reach advantage to prevent takedowns?\u00a0 If taken down will he be able to submit <strong>Munoz<\/strong>?\u00a0 I think not.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Prediction:<\/strong> &#8220;The Philippine Wrecking Machine&#8221; wrecks &#8220;Da Spyder.&#8221;\u00a0 <strong>Munoz win<\/strong> by <strong>TKO<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Matt Hughes (43-7) vs. Renzo Gracie<\/strong><strong> (13-6-1)<\/strong><strong><br \/>\nHughes<\/strong> will have the <strong>wrestling, strength<\/strong> and <strong>experience<\/strong> advantage.\u00a0 He&#8217;ll also be the <strong>crowd favorite<\/strong>.\u00a0 While it&#8217;s true that <strong>Hughes<\/strong> is no longer as young as he once was, he won&#8217;t have to be.\u00a0 <strong>Gracie<\/strong> is <strong>43 years old<\/strong>, hasn&#8217;t had an <strong>MMA fight<\/strong> in three years and in the<strong> five years<\/strong> before that had won only once while losing six times.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Prediction<\/strong>: <strong>Hughes<\/strong> <strong>win<\/strong> via <strong>unanimous decision<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>BJ <\/strong>&#8220;The Prodigy&#8221; <strong>Penn (15-5-1) vs. Frankie <\/strong>&#8220;The Answer&#8221; <strong>Edgar (11-1)<br \/>\nEdgar<\/strong> is a tough kid with a great record.\u00a0 He&#8217;s a small lightweight, but that hasn&#8217;t stopped him from imposing his will in previous fights.\u00a0 Of course in previous fights, he wasn&#8217;t facing &#8220;The Prodigy.&#8221;\u00a0 Edgar&#8217;s greatest strength, besides his toughness, is his wrestling.\u00a0 Unfortunately for him, Penn&#8217;s takedown defense is legendary.\u00a0 Penn has not lost a fight at this weight class in eight years and he&#8217;s faced the best in the division.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Prediction<\/strong>: &#8220;The Prodigy&#8221;
