Today’s post is about a few things; one of which you may find surprising.\u00a0 But first, some introductions, the handsome fellow on the left is professional wrestler<\/strong> [and best selling author<\/strong>] Mick Foley<\/strong> aka Mankind<\/strong>, Cactus Jack<\/strong>, etc.\u00a0 The lady on the left is Linda McMahon<\/strong>, wife of billionaire and WWE<\/strong> owner, Vince McMahon<\/strong>.\u00a0 There will be another post, later this week, about Mick Foley<\/strong>.\u00a0 Today’s post concerns Linda McMahon<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Last year Linda McMahon<\/strong> stepped down as CEO<\/strong> of the WWE<\/strong>.\u00a0 It wasn’t part of a storyline or a gimmick to do with the professional wrestling<\/strong> company. Ms. McMahon <\/strong>decided to run for the US Senate<\/strong>.\u00a0 Really.\u00a0 Here’s her website<\/strong><\/del>.\u00a0 I kid you not.\u00a0 Kinda surprising, right.<\/p>\n

Today TVGuide.com<\/strong><\/a> posted a piece<\/strong> on Ms. McMahon’s campaign ad<\/strong> that calls professional wrestling<\/strong>,,,<\/p>\n

“a soap opera that entertains millions each week”. <\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

TVGuide<\/strong> says that in the ad Linda McMahon<\/strong>…<\/p>\n

…lets it slip that the wrestling “isn’t real.”<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The article goes on to say…<\/p>\n

That sound you hear is grown men all over the country weeping.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Will someone please send Gina DiNunno<\/strong>, the author of the article, word that pro wrestling<\/strong> fans have known for years that professional wrestling<\/strong> is scripted.\u00a0 Make that decades.\u00a0 If this was the 1950’s<\/strong>, 60’s<\/strong> or even the 70’s<\/strong>, perhaps some fans would think that pro rasslin’ <\/strong>was real, but c’mon, let’s get, uh, real.\u00a0 Professional wrestling<\/strong> is scripted.\u00a0 Anyone who doesn’t know that probably doesn’t have the intelligence to read the TVGuide<\/strong> article.<\/p>\n

So what’s more surprising:<\/p>\n

  1. Linda McMahon is running for the US Sentate<\/strong><\/li>\n
  2. Linda McMahon called professional wrestling a “scripted soap opera”<\/strong><\/li>\n
  3. TVGuide and Gina DiNunno think that Linda McMahon’s statement is a “Shocker”<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
