The undercard was solid, and the main event pitting <strong>UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar<\/strong> against <strong>undefeated, UFC Interim Champion Shane Carwin<\/strong> lived up to the hype.<\/p>\n<p>Here are the results with my predictions:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Kendall <\/strong>&#8220;da Spyder&#8221; <strong>Grove vs. Goran Reljic<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Prediction: <\/strong><strong>Grove <\/strong>pulls out a win in a tough match.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Result:<\/strong><strong> Grove defeated Reljic<\/strong> by split decision (28-29,30-27, 29-28) making me <strong>1-0 <\/strong>for the night<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Seth<\/strong>&#8220;The Silverback&#8221; <strong>Petruzelli vs. Ricardo Romero<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Prediction:<\/strong><strong> Petruzelli <\/strong>takes the win.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Result: Romero defeated Petruzelli<\/strong> via armbar submission in round 2 making me<strong> 1-1<\/strong> for the night<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Brendan<\/strong> &#8220;The Hybrid&#8221;<strong> Schaub vs. Chris <\/strong>&#8220;The Crowbar&#8221; <strong>Tuchscherer.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Prediction: Schaub <\/strong>wins via TKO.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Result: Schuab defeated Tuchscherer <\/strong>via TKO in Round 1<strong> <\/strong>making me <strong>2-1<\/strong> for the night<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Kurt<\/strong> &#8220;Batman&#8221; <strong>Pellegrino vs. George Sotiropoulos.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Prediction: Sotiropoulos<\/strong> with the victory in a tough bout.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Result: Sotiropoulos defeated Pellegrino <\/strong>via decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28) making me <strong>3-1<\/strong> for the night<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Stephan<\/strong> &#8220;The American Psycho&#8221; <strong>Bonnar vs. Krzysztof <\/strong>&#8220;The Polish Experiment&#8221; <strong>Soszynski<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Prediction: Soszynski <\/strong>earns the &#8220;W&#8221;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Result: Bonnar defeated Soszynski <\/strong>via TKO in Round 2<strong> <\/strong>making me <strong>3-2<\/strong> for the night<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Matt<\/strong>&#8220;The Immortal&#8221; <strong> Brown vs. Chris <\/strong>&#8220;Lights Out&#8221;<strong> Lytle. <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Prediction: In an upset, Matt Brown <\/strong>gets a hard fought victory.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Result: Lytle defeated Brown<\/strong> via armbar submission in Round 2 making me <strong>3-3<\/strong> for the night<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Chris<\/strong> &#8220;The Crippler&#8221;<strong> Leben vs. Yoshihiro Akiyama.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Prediction: Leben <\/strong>toughs out another victory, his second win in two weeks!\u00a0 Leban along with his oppenent,<\/li>\n<li><strong>Result: Leben defeated Akiyama <\/strong>by triangle choke in Round 3 making me <strong>4-3 <\/strong>for the night<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong>Shane Carwin vs. <\/strong><strong>Brock Lesnar.<\/strong> <\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Prediction: Carwin <\/strong>takes the title!<\/li>\n<li><strong>Result: Lesnar defeated Carwin <\/strong>by arm triangle choke submission in Round 2 making me<strong> 4-4 <\/strong>for the night<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Final thoughts:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The fight card lived up to the high expectations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Stephan Bonner<\/strong> kept his career alive with a tough win against a tough opponent.\u00a0 Both <strong>Bonner <\/strong>and his opponent <strong>Krzysztof <\/strong><strong>Soszynski<\/strong> picked up and extra <strong>$75,000<\/strong> for <strong>co-fight of the night <\/strong>bonuses.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Lytle&#8217;s submission<\/strong> was crazy &#8212;\u00a0 and in my opinion <strong>should have <\/strong>earned submission of the night and the <strong>$75, 000 bonus<\/strong> that went with it.\u00a0 (Instead <strong>Brock Lesnar <\/strong>was awarded it.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Chris Leben<\/strong> earned his <strong>second win in two weeks<\/strong> and he and his opponent <strong>Yoshihiro Akiyama <\/strong>scored <strong>$75,000 <\/strong>each as <strong>co-fight of the night bonuses.<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Shane Carwin<\/strong> dominated the first round of the fight.\u00a0 It was strange to see <strong>Brock<\/strong> back-peddling after getting rocked by <strong>Carwin&#8217;s punches<\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0 Once on the ground <strong>Lesnar <\/strong>covered up and simply weathered the storm.\u00a0 I wish <strong>Carwin<\/strong> had gone back to his feet with enough time left to do more real damage.I was sure that <strong>Lesnar<\/strong> would go for the take down in the 2nd and he did.\u00a0 I thought that <strong>Carwin<\/strong> would have a better ground defense.\u00a0 I guess he was just gassed after the first round.\u00a0 <strong>Brock<\/strong> cinched in the choke and it was over.\u00a0\u00a0 Congrats to <strong>Brock<\/strong> for having a game plan and sticking to it.\u00a0 Even more congrats to <strong>Brock<\/strong> for acting like a champion after the win.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Last night was the biggest MMA fight card ever!
