Let&#8217;s look at my predictions and the results:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Matt Hughes vs BJ Penn.<\/strong><br \/>\nPrediction:<strong> Penn <\/strong>by<strong> decision.<br \/>\n<\/strong>Result:<strong> Penn KO&#8217;d Hughes <\/strong>in 21 seconds of the first round.<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Rampage Jackson vs Lyoto Machida.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Prediction: Machida <\/strong>by<strong> decision.<br \/>\n<\/strong>Result: <strong>Jackson <\/strong>via <strong>split decision.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Final thoughts:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It would have made for much more interesting scenarios had <strong>Matt Hughes<\/strong> won.\u00a0 Would he have been in line for a title shot?\u00a0 With <strong>Penn<\/strong> winning in such a decisive manner, the question is now, &#8220;Is <strong>Matt Hughes<\/strong> finished in <strong>MMA<\/strong>?&#8221;\u00a0 Funny how the tides can turn so quickly.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Jackson <\/strong>won via split decision, getting the victory that I thought would go to <strong>Machida<\/strong>.\u00a0 I&#8217;m glad for <strong>Jackson<\/strong> and hope it leads to bigger and better things.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Karo Parisyan<\/strong> fought on the undercard.\u00a0 At one time<strong> Karo<\/strong> was in line for a title shot.\u00a0 His fight against <strong>Diego Sanchez<\/strong> remains one of my all-time favorites.\u00a0 Last night he was KO&#8217;d in 1:47 of the first round.\u00a0 <strong>Karo<\/strong> looked terrible.\u00a0 I had hoped that he&#8217;d overcome his anxiety\/panic attacks and was ready to resume his quest for the title.\u00a0 According to <strong>Dana White<\/strong>, <strong>Karo<\/strong> has fought his last fight in the <strong>UFC <\/strong>which, if true, is a sad end to a once promising career.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>UFC 123 was last night.
