We’re less than three hours away from 2011<\/strong>.\u00a0 Wow.\u00a0 It’s going to take some time to get used to writing THAT.\u00a0 2011<\/strong>.\u00a0 For a person my age [and I ain’t ancient], it’s weird to think that we’re living in the future<\/strong> that we read about and saw on movies<\/strong> and tv<\/strong> as kids growing up in the 60’s<\/strong> and 70’s<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Think about it.\u00a0 Escape from New York<\/strong><\/em> would have taken place<\/strong> nearly 14 years ago<\/strong>.\u00a0 The <\/em>Space Odyssey<\/em><\/strong> that we took in 2001<\/strong> would be a decade old.\u00a0 Where are the hovercraft, flying cars, trips to Mars<\/strong>, and all the cool stuff we thought would be part of our world in 2011<\/strong>?<\/p>\n

Okay.\u00a0 So we don’t have some<\/span> most of the fantastic stuff that we thought the future would bring.\u00a0 That’s okay though.\u00a0 If we’re lucky we have our friends, family<\/strong> and our health<\/strong>.\u00a0 If we have those three things<\/strong> all the other junk will fall into place.\u00a0 Who knows, maybe we’ll get jetpacks<\/strong> for Christmas<\/strong> in 2012<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
