{"id":5173,"date":"2011-02-01T01:19:06","date_gmt":"2011-02-01T05:19:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/craigzablo.com\/?p=5173"},"modified":"2011-02-01T05:53:52","modified_gmt":"2011-02-01T09:53:52","slug":"tv-shows-we-miss","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/craigzablo.com\/?p=5173","title":{"rendered":"TV Shows We Miss"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><\/strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/zone\/2011\/z020111old_tv.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"475\" height=\"340\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Recently <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/bitsandpieces.us\/\" target=\"_blank\">Bits and Pieces<\/a><\/strong> ran a piece listing <strong>tv shows<\/strong> that have ceased production but would be welcomed if they returned.\u00a0 Here is the list with my comments in [ ].<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>24 <\/strong>[I totally agree.\u00a0 I never missed an episode and would rather see it return to tv as a series or mini-series than go to the big screen as a movie.]<\/li>\n<li><strong>Hill Street Blues<\/strong> [Although I never missed <strong>Hill Street<\/strong> <strong>Blues<\/strong> back in the day, I think it&#8217;s time has passed.]<\/li>\n<li><strong>Cheers<\/strong> [Was a great show when it first started but ran it&#8217;s course.]<\/li>\n<li><strong>The Shield<\/strong> [I never missed an episode and would be a faithful viewer if <strong>The Shield<\/strong> returned.\u00a0 It&#8217;d be interesting to see where life has taken <strong>Vic Mackey<\/strong>.]<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sopranos<\/strong> [Since I didn&#8217;t have <strong>HBO<\/strong>, I came to <strong>The Sopranos<\/strong> late.\u00a0 I&#8217;m not even sure I&#8217;ve seen every episode, but I&#8217;d love to see it return.]<\/li>\n<li><strong>All in the Family<\/strong> [I used to watch it every week in the early years of it&#8217;s run.\u00a0 Then when the cast started to leave, I lost interest.\u00a0 Plus, what would the show have to do in this era to be controversial?]<\/li>\n<li><strong>Everybody Loves Raymond<\/strong> [This is another show I didn&#8217;t watch in it&#8217;s prime time run.\u00a0 I do enjoy the reruns though.\u00a0 If they could get the cast back together &#8212; <strong>Peter Boyle<\/strong> would be missed &#8212; it could work.]<\/li>\n<li><strong>Seinfeld<\/strong> [My all time favorite comedy.\u00a0 I didn&#8217;t start right watching right away &#8212; who did? &#8212; but once I did, I never missed an episode.\u00a0 If they could get the original cast back along with the show&#8217;s writers, could they catch lighting in a bottle again?\u00a0 I don&#8217;t know, but I&#8217;d tune in to find out.]<\/li>\n<li><strong>Six Feet Under<\/strong> [Never watched it.]<\/li>\n<li><strong>NYPD Blue<\/strong> [Never watched it.]<\/li>\n<li><strong>The West Wing<\/strong> [Never missed an episode.\u00a0 I&#8217;d tune in if it was brought back &#8212; even with a new cast, if the writing was as good.]<\/li>\n<li><strong>E.R.<\/strong> [I used to watch every episode until it became more of a soap opera than stories about the ER.]<\/li>\n<li><strong>3<sup>rd<\/sup> rock From The Sun<\/strong> [It was fun and I&#8217;d tune in from time to time, but nah, for me, it ran it&#8217;s course.]<\/li>\n<li><strong>Police Squad!<\/strong> [If they\u00a0could get <strong>Leslie Nielsen<\/strong> back, I&#8217;d tune in.\u00a0\u00a0Zombies are in!]<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Going way back<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The Monkees<\/strong> [Loved the show as a kid, but unless you have the original <strong>Monkees<\/strong>, it&#8217;s not the same&#8230; and who wants to watch 4 zany 6o plus year old musicians?\u00a0 Hey, maybe we&#8217;re on to something!]<\/li>\n<li><strong>Superman<\/strong> [Loved the show as a kid.\u00a0 I&#8217;d tune in to check it out&#8230; especially if they did it in black and white and tried to recapture the feel of the original.]<\/li>\n<li><strong>Wild Bill Hickok<\/strong> [[Don&#8217;t remember ever seeing it.]<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sky King<\/strong> [Watched it as a kid and remember liking it.\u00a0 Saw a clip as an adult and thought &#8220;time for a nap.&#8221;]<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dragnet<\/strong> [Times have changed and I thought it was slow back in the 60&#8217;s.]<\/li>\n<li><strong>Roy Rogers<\/strong> [Loved it as a kid.\u00a0 Would tune in to check it out.]<\/li>\n<li><strong>Tonight Show with Johnny Carson<\/strong> [That show was fun&#8230; and as history has shown the magic could not be recreated]<\/li>\n<li><strong>Red Skelton Show<\/strong> [Another fun show.]<\/li>\n<li><strong>Carol Burnett Show<\/strong> [Part of the Saturday line-up that made CBS the network to watch!]<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dick Van Dyke Show<\/strong> [The supporting characters were the best&#8230; I loved that series!]<\/li>\n<li><strong>The Fugitive<\/strong> [It uh, ran it&#8217;s course.\u00a0 A remake might be fun&#8230; as a mini-series.]<\/li>\n<li><strong>Get Smart<\/strong> [It was okay&#8230; could it be re-invented?\u00a0 Ah, let&#8217;s do <strong>Police Squad<\/strong> instead!]<\/li>\n<li><strong>Hawaii Five-O<\/strong> [The new series was more fun than the original and I&#8217;ve already lost interest in it.]<\/li>\n<li><strong>Leave It To Beaver<\/strong> [ A classic when the<strong> Beaver<\/strong> was younger&#8230; not so much when he aged.]<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ozzie and Harriet<\/strong> [Never watched it.]<\/li>\n<li><strong>People Are Funny<\/strong> [Might have seen an episode or two&#8230;]<\/li>\n<li><strong>Laugh-In<\/strong> [A product of it&#8217;s times&#8230;
