One of my all-time favorite graphic novels<\/strong> is Batman: Year One<\/strong><\/em><\/a> by Frank Miller<\/strong> and David <\/strong>Mazzucchelli<\/strong>. <\/strong>I was pleased to read in The Hollywood Reporter<\/strong><\/a> today that a feature length animated adaptation<\/strong> is in the works with Bruce Timm<\/strong> on board to executive produce.\u00a0 Timm indicates that the production will closely follow the graphic novels story and look when he says:<\/p>\n

“The source material is surprisingly cinematic; it’s a pretty straight\u00a0forward literal retelling… Mazzucchelli’s artwork is beautifully\u00a0composed and we were able to refer to the comic for about 80 percent of the camera setups.”<\/p>\n

Ben McKenzie<\/strong> will provide the voice for Batman\/Bruce Wayne <\/strong>and Bryan “Breaking Bad”<\/em><\/strong> Cranston<\/strong> will do the same for Liet. James Gordon<\/strong>.\u00a0 You can read more about the production here<\/strong><\/a> and here<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n
