{"id":5903,"date":"2011-10-16T12:22:01","date_gmt":"2011-10-16T16:22:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/craigzablo.com\/?p=5903"},"modified":"2021-03-20T12:16:59","modified_gmt":"2021-03-20T16:16:59","slug":"working-w-sly-on-bullet-to-the-head","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/craigzablo.com\/?p=5903","title":{"rendered":"Working w\/ Sly on Bullet to the Head"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/stallonezone.com\/imgs\/news\/2011\/june\/061011bullet_head.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"475\" height=\"356\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On <strong>October 13, 2012<\/strong>, <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Collider.com posted an interview<\/strong><\/span> with <strong>Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje<\/strong> currently co-starring in <em><strong>The Thing<\/strong><\/em> and soon to be seen with <strong>Sylvester Stallone<\/strong> in <em><strong>Bullet to the Head<\/strong><\/em>.\u00a0 Here are some tidbits from the interview about working with <strong>Sly<\/strong>&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">How much fun was it to face off against <strong>Sylvester Stallone<\/strong> for <strong><em>Bullet to the Head<\/em><\/strong>?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>AKINNUOYE-AGBAJE<\/strong>: It\u2019s one of those parts that you just relish in your career. I grew up watching<strong><em> Rambo<\/em><\/strong> and <strong><em>Rocky<\/em><\/strong>, and all of those movies, so you have a surreal moment, even as an actor, when you\u2019re in front of these guys, whether it\u2019s <strong>DeNiro <\/strong>or <strong>Stallone<\/strong>. You have a moment like, \u201cGeez, that\u2019s <strong>Sylvester Stallone<\/strong>,\u201d and then you have to snap out of it and get back in the pocket of the character. But, it was a real treat, not just because you\u2019re working with somebody that you grew up watching, as a kid, but also because he\u2019s a great guy. He\u2019s just a professional. He\u2019s a straight-shooter, and it was fun to work with him. You go to work and there\u2019s no pretense, or anything else going on, on the set.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The experience was just made better because of (director) <strong>Walter Hill<\/strong>. They have a working relationship together, but he\u2019s a legend in his own right, as well. I was sandwiched between these two old-school legends, and I learned a lot. You also realize why they got to where they\u2019ve gotten to because they\u2019re very driven, ambitious and fearless. I really enjoyed it, and I loved the character that we created. <strong>Walter<\/strong> and <strong>Sylvester<\/strong> really wanted something different, and you always get that, if I\u2019m going to play the character.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The character was written as <strong>American<\/strong>, but we changed it slightly, to an <strong>African<\/strong> who came to <strong>America<\/strong>. Also, we made the guy a cripple. That just gave it an added, twisted dimension. It was just fun because to actually get to create a character in a big studio movie is rare, and they went for it. <strong>Christian Slater<\/strong> was in it, too. It was just a good cast and a good movie.
